Accidental vegan - Edit
We went to see what vegan options they had and were disappointed. Asked for a vegan pizza and got a pie with cheese on it. Sent it back and they "supposedly" made a new pie with vegan cheese but I'm not sure they cooked a new pie versus taking some or all of the cheese off and replacing it.

Stop the upcharges!!! - Edit
The regular crust at Pizza by the Sea is not vegan. You have to pay the upcharge for the gluten free crust that is only 10 inches. Then you have to pay another upcharge for the Violife cheese. The 10 inch gluten free crust is $17 & the Violife is $5...now you get to pay another $1.50 per topping. It's really overpriced. I am grateful to have this is an option, but I really have to be in a pinch to spend so much money on such little pizza. The pizza is good, but you're better off to make your own at home or grab a vegan frozen pizza at Whole Foods.

Mediocre and expensive - Edit
Vegan pizza is an extra 5 dollars. Comes on some pretty soggy crust and it's just generally uninspired. Staff is really nice and helpful, but you can do a lot better for your money.

Really good thin crust pizza friendly staff, but it was 5 extra dollars for vegan cheese 😲. Don't think I'll be back because of the price.
