Lots of Asian classics

Liked their menu. Rare to see local food served as vegan.

Delicious nasi lemak

We visited here twice and got some variation of nasi lemak both times. The first time we both got rendang nasi lemak. The rendang was delicious, it had a good strong flavour and there was lots of tempeh, lion's mane mushrooms and (I think) some tofu. The accompaniments on the plate were good additions, with some good textures coming from the cashews and pickles, and some good flavour from the sambal. The rice was well cooked and more meals should be served with poppadoms.

On our next visit I got the kurma curry nasi lemak. The curry sauce was tasty with a bit of chilli kick but nothing too spicy. There was plenty of tempeh and bits of mushrooms in the sauce. My partner got the satay nasi lemak. The satay skewer was made from lion's mane mushrooms so had a great texture. It was good and nutty but didn't pack the same exciting flavours as the rendang.

We both had ice milk teas and enjoyed them, they were quite sweet and exactly what we were looking for. On the second visit I got a chocolate, banana and peanut shake and all of those flavours were very obviously there making for a delicious drink.

Fantastic traditional taste of Malaysia

Wow, the food, setting, staff and decor were all a delight. I really enjoyed the classic nasi lemak and we also had the chee cheong fun and satay whilst my wife had the oriental pearl bowl.

We loved the place and it may well be the first place we re-visit on our current trip which we try to avoid!

Pros: Setting, Staff, Food

Cons: Lack of soft drinks

Tasty food, nice interior

Really enjoyed our food. Ordered the Nasi Lemak curry version which was incredibly tasty. Hokkien noodles were nice but not stand out. Staff friendly. Maybe slightly pricier than other places in town.

Great vegan food!

Very good, local cuisine that is all 100% vegan. The staff were lovely and were very helpful at recommending dishes. We had two variations of Nasi Lemak which was really flavourful.

Satisfied

I ordered Nasi lemak and the flavour is amazing, i usually doesn't like amy kind of mushrooms, but i love how the cook their mushroom. The service is great too, i talk a bit with the owner i think, and she is very nice.

Great Malay vegan food

It’s so hard to pass Malay street food by when it’s not vegan in Penang. It all smells and looks so good. But I found this place on here and it was fantastic. So I wanted to leave positive review too for others. The Assam Laksa spicy soup was the real deal. Nice place and people too.

Amazing local food

This is a great place to experience some local Penang food. If I recall correctly, they even use organic ingredients, at least for some of their dishes. Everything I tried was great.

So happy this restaurant exists! There doesn't seem like there's anywhere else that has local dishes made vegan. Also so tasty !

Great food

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this vegetarian cafe in Penang! We ordered their signature dishes - the Penang Laksa and Hokkien Mee - and they were both so delicious and had such a rich aroma that we ended up devouring all the soup. But the real star of the show was the Onde-Onde cake we had for dessert, it was simply incredible! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious vegetarian food in Penang.

Great food

I enjoyed two lunches here. And one Grab order.
The portions were generous, and food was very tasty And was served quickly.
Staff was lovely and welcoming.

One comment stated the AC didn’t cool down enough?😄so I thought actually it’s too cold as in many places here, so I brought and needed a scarf.

Pros: Food was Great, Staff very friendly , Lemongrass Ginger tea 👍

Cons: AC a little to cold for me

Reflection

Pinxin Vegan Cuisine consistently ranks at the top of my list for vegan dining in Penang. I always recommend it to people visiting the area. However, during our recent visit, I noticed several changes. The restaurant seemed understaffed, and while the food was decent, the portions appeared smaller. The air conditioning didn't adequately cool the space, and the restaurant could benefit from some refurbishment as it appeared outdated. Additionally, the main door made a loud squeaking sound. Despite these issues, Pinxin Vegan Cuisine still holds a special place in my heart, and I hope it can regain its former fame and charm.

Cons: Not enough parking space

Good food, nice setting

The Laksa soup was good, huge portion but the taste was "just" good and nothing special. The satay sticks were yummy though! Cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff.

Didn’t meet expectations

Perhaps it was the dish I chose but I was a little underwhelmed by this raved about venue. I ordered the “signature” asam laksa. Serving size was good and the noodles were well-cooked. The flavour was too subtle for my liking (not sour enough) and there was only a small amount of cucumber and pineapple. If I were to go back I would try something different.

The food is amazing omg

I got the Java mee (I got the chilli on the side as I didn’t want it to be too spicy) and the sauce was really good, not watery and full of flavour. The mushrooms were amazing as well. Next was the clear soup mini pot, the broth was heavenly omg I didn’t expect it to be so good but it was. The nasi lemak was good too, the sambal was the star of the dish imo. Tbh everything was good

Pros: Food is top tier

Cons: Service is a bit slow, Slightly expensive

Vegan restaurant in Penang so that’s a plus

The food was great, a bit of a hike out of the center of the town. Ordered the veg curry and masala curry, both were good, not as spicy as advertised, and as the curry sauces were premixed it was not possible to adjust them. However, a pleasant dinning experience.

Pros: Quality of the meals , All vegan

Cons: Quite far out of town, Not licensed to serve alcohol
