Really good and affordable

Only RMB 30 for the buffet. You can try a little bit of everything, and it's all tasty. The pumpkin soup was especially good. Very lively inside, the restaurant is popular.

Mind the tight opening hours! The hours on happy cow were correct at the time of this review.

Buddhist vegetarian restaurant

Free for those 80yrs and above.
Free for the first 10 road and other municipal cleaners as well as for anyone who can't afford.
Before the restaurant closes each night, they will pack up whatever are leftover for the homeless to collect.
They are on the same row, just a few steps away from the Paxton Vacances Hotels & Resorts-Sanya.

Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

While having our lunch, a monk walked in with an alms bowl. Had not seen mahayana monks using alms bowl before. He was wearing grey robes which looked like it needed a good wash badly. He looks like he has been walking far and roughing it out. Anyway, he went on to put food, soup and everything else into his alms bowl. We offered him something from the buffet and that was when we noticed his alms bowl. It was like a pond.. filled with soup and everything else submerged. The way our great teacher, the Buddha, would have expected. If this was his practice, there is much to respect of his practice!

After he had his bowl filled he as quickly as he came, disappeared out of the restaurant. Wanted to make some dana to him, but the restaurant staff does not know who he is. They said they normally don't speak or ask the monks who come to collect food from their restaurant. Was disappointed that we can't do more for him. Nevertheless, was so inspired with what the restaurant does and even more so to see that monk.

Low Cost Vegan Buffet

This lovely restaurant provides a fully vegan “all you can eat” buffet at a set price. There are plenty of hot dishes, cold dishes, soups, hot-pot, sweets and drinks to choose from ,all for 28RMB at the time of writing.
The food was varied, delicious and freshly prepared. I think this is a Buddhist restaurant, I saw a monk eating there.
This is a must-try if you are in the area.

Pros: Great value, Plenty of choice, Lots of vegan sweets
