Grate Vegan Sandwich

Came here today with the family, had the Hoisin tofu sandwich, it was slightly toasted & it was amazing.

Pros: Has a vegan option, A vegan cake

Cons: Far out from where I live

Beautiful cafe, great vegan options!

The first time we visited Holy Island (three years ago) we were newbie vegans and very used to having to opt for plain chips or toast with jam, so we didn't expect anything else with Holy Island being so small. Pilgrim's Coffee was such a pleasant surprise - a beautiful cafe serving plant milk, with not only a vegan soup, but a vegan cake and vegan panini with vegan cheese! We've been there every year since and each time the toastie has been different (and all have been amazing!) This time it was a Texan BBQ with beans, vegan chicken pieces and slaw. I really recommend it here, the vibes are so nice, the cafe itself is lovely and cosy but the garden is extra special; it has a yurt, blankets, water for dogs and lots of little bird visitors! Thank you Pilgrim's Coffee

Pros: Always a yummy vegan option, Innovative flavours, Lovely vibe

Cons: There could be more options

Lovely lunch

It’s rare when we holiday in Northumberland for us to be able to get a lunch together where there are options for me. Nice sandwich but would have been nice to have more than one option - also the crisps (that I picked up) were all non-vegan friendly 😐

Great vegan option on the island

No question what a vegan would do on a small (not hugely populated) island! Pilgrams Coffee house has a great vegan cake option as well as a very tasty vegan sandwich option (in our case it was vegan chili sin carne sandwich) as well as offering soy milk for coffee. So even if you are stuck on the island if you missed the cut of time for safe travelling due to high tide you will not be wanting for food :-)

Pros: Tasty food and soy options for coffee

Great to be catered for!

We were so pleased to find this place after struggling to find vegan options in other Northumberland towns. We enjoyed great coffee with soya milk, a vegan chilli toastie with violife and even a vegan cake! They also sell some amazing 100% nut butters

Pros: family friendly, friendly staff, nice outdoor seating area

Cons: only 1 cake option

Delighted to find this place!

We weren't expecting to find anywhere that did good vegan options on the island, so were very pleasantly surprised to find that Pilgrims Coffee House served vegan toasties, sweetcorn and tofu chowder, and at least one vegan cake too! More generally, it seemed a lovely place all round, with lots of outdoor seating, home roasted coffee beans and a big range of delicious, fair trade soft drinks. We were extremely pleased to see them using compostable coffee cups and crockery (by VegWare) all the way through!

Pros: Good vegan options , Vegware used throughout, Very friendly place

Cons: Could easily have more than one vegan cake option!

Vegan heaven on Holy Island

Northumberland seems to be a bit of a dark spot for vegan options, so I was delighted to happen on this cafe clearly advertising its vegan options. Some interesting choices, too - I loved the "non-meatball" sub with violife cheese, and the chilli and cheese toastie looked good as well. Other options ranged from full hot meals to soup and a delicious sweet treat called a Cuthbert.

Pros: A variety of vegan options , Something a little different , Lovely setting

Cons: It was busy, but then so is everywhere on Holy Isl
