Phenomenal meal - Edit
This restaurant exceeded my expectations in more ways than one. The menu offered an impressive array of options that catered to my plant-based preferences, making it a delightful experience right from the start.
Read moreThe Ragu pasta was perfectly cooked and the addition of walnuts provided a delightful and unexpected crunch that elevated the dish to another level. The Gnocchi was another standout, hitting the spot with its savory flavors and comforting texture. However, the true star of the show was the pizza. The dough was simply outstanding, perfectly crisp on the outside yet wonderfully soft and chewy on the inside. It served as the ideal canvas for the various toppings, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.
For dessert, I couldn't resist trying the Chocolate Lover, and it was the perfect sweet ending to my meal. The combination of chocolate and pineapples was surprisingly delicious and capped off the dining experience on a high note.
The only minor downside was the service, which was a tad slow. However, it was evident that the restaurant's popularity played a significant role in this, as it was bustling with patrons. I found it to be a reasonable tradeoff considering the quality of the food.
The prices were on the higher side, but this was entirely expected given the prime location of the restaurant. In my opinion, the exceptional vegan cuisine and overall dining experience made it well worth the price. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch vegan meal with a diverse menu and an emphasis on quality.
Pros: Lots of vegan options - ask for the vegan menu, Decor, Knowledgeable waiters
Cons: Somewhat pricey, Service a tad slow

My go to in San Diego - Edit
I’m surprised to see the low rating. Gnocchi with eggplant is delicious. Absence of vegan cheeses is not a problem for me because I eat plant-based for the sake of health - don’t eat things with an ingredient list containing unfamiliar words.

Cons: Few healthy items

Pretty restaurant with sub par food - Edit
Pretty restaurant but only ok good. I thought the food would be much better based online reviews. It wasn’t terrible but certainly not great.

Beautiful place, terrible food - Edit
We liked the setting a lot. Beautiful place to go for an evening date with a nice ambiance, as long as you’re not eating. Seriously, though- the vegan food was realllly bad. We had:
Read more-bruschetta (bad, overly crisped bread with no chew, low quality tasting tomatoes, too much oil)
-pesto gnocchi (no acidity or vegan cheesiness (nooch/vegan parm) to the pesto, just oily basil sauce, it wasn’t good by any means, but was the best part of the meal)
-vegan pizza (truly the worst pizza we’d ever had). Unpleasant crust, the cheese was not good, but the worst part was the burnt to a crisp vegetables on top.
Really happy they offer a vegan menu, but they need to make the food taste better. If any nonvegan tried this, they’d probably be very skeptical of vegan food from then on.
Pros: Vegan menu, Nice ambiance
Cons: Terrible tasting food

Best vegan pizza we’ve ever had - Edit
Wow. My husband and I both ordered vegan pizzas (with the crispy veggies) and the cheese was so much like actual mozzarella that we bugged 3 different servers/staff to make sure it was actually vegan cheese. 🤣 They even took a photo of the vegan cheese and showed it to us. That’s how good the pizza was! P.S. It’s nice to finally have some non vegan places offering cheese that’s NOT Daiya. 🙌 Hat’s off to Piazza 1909 for attempting to please the vegans as well as the non vegans!
