The best sandwich in town! - Edit
If you want the best sandwich in town of Assisi, that is organic fresh and incredibly delicious, then Piadina is for you. I created a new sandwich that’s not on the menu, so all you have to do is ask for Sara’s special and they’ll know what to do. The ingredients that I always ask for are pecorino cheese, Pesto, tomatoes and arugula. Today I added red bell peppers and radicchio and as always it was incredible. I highly highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed if you order Sara’s sandwich. Great value for money!

No vegan option - Edit
It's true that there are a lot of vegetarian piadine, but not a single one that's vegan.
Reading the reviews I was expecting at least one vegan option that's not just vegetables and nothing else (if you ask for a vegetarian one with no cheese).
They just could make one piadina with hummus for example.

High hopes... Little disappointed - Edit
After reading the reviews here I was very eager to go there.
Read moreBut was a bit disappointed.
Vegan just meant without the cheese.
And thats OK.
But for me that doesn't deserve 4 stars.
If half of your menu is vegetarian... Why not make a very good vegan options!
I paid 7 euro and for me it wasn't worth it. Nice but wouldn't go back.
Pros: Vegetarian options can be made vegan
Cons: Nothing special

Yummy vegan options - Edit
Second best vegan food in Assisi (Ribelle’s burger is better in my opinion). But several options here and you can ask for no cheese and they’ll make it for you. Quite tasty.

Just ask for vegan/no cheese! - Edit
I was hangry on an involuntary group tour, so I ran away and got a glass of pomegranate juice and the vegetariano without cheese; basically a pile of delicious organic vegetables stuck in some salty bread. The staff were very nice and spoke English, and I enjoyed a very nice weird little 7€ sandwich and felt better about life.

Vegan options - Edit
Was pleasantly suprised to find vegan options in Assisi. My husband and I stopped here for a quick bite. The owner was very nice and accommodating when we told him we were vegan. Half of the menu is vegetarian and the ingredients are listed, so its easy to veganize a lot of their stuff and the owner also told us we could add additional fillings to the piadina. We both got the vegetariana minus the cheese (husband added mushrooms to his) and it was a yummy cross between a quesadilla and a wrap. Would recommend based on the hospitality of the owner alone.

Delicious piadina with amazing pesto - Edit
This was our first time having this delicious snack/sandwich/pita pocket and we loved it so much we had to get another. The pesto is a perfect combination of oil and herbs without being strong or “gritty”. The tomatoes tasted fresh on the one we got and perfectly cooked. Would certainly recommend the stop! Owners are friendly and helpful.

Brunch was yummy - Edit
We had the wholemeal Piadina with chicori, peppers, zucchini and tomato.
Read moreI was really looking forward to having a sweet option but they all contain Nutella which isn't vegan.
We had to ask about the pesto a few times to clarify whether it was vegan or not. When I said that they sometimes add cheese to the pesto, he understood that and then said he wasn't sure if it was vegan or not.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Lots of bottled juices
Cons: Be careful to explain what vegan means , The owner says he knows , But he didn't know Nutella wasn't vegan

Amazing!! - Edit
This restaurant is super cosy and cute! The people who work there really have a heart for the job. They also were very welcoming and kind. The food they serve is perfect! We had a crepe with vegan chocolate and pistache. Could’t been any better. I wanted to give it a 5 star, but happy cow wouldn’t allow that because it is not an all vegetarian restaurant.

excellent vegan piadina - Edit
Thin and crunchy piadina based on oil with a filling very abundant: delicious! The vegan is filled with a nice mix of seasonal vegetables (cooked and raw) with mushrooms and nuts on request: really good, at a cost of 5.50 euros. With the addition of 50 cents you can opt for the one with Senatore Cappelli flour, or semi-wholemeal spelled, or whole, organic soft wheat. I recommend spelled, the most tasty! Quick service. Owners kind and available. In the center of Assisi. Recommended!

Sehr leckere vegane Piadina - Edit

Vegan options, but not very filling - Edit
When we visited, the restaurant was no longer advertising vegan piadina; however it's still available on request. While the piadina wrap is usually made with lard, an alternative version made with olive oil was available, with a choice of different flours.
Read moreThe filling for the vegan piadina was a large array of different vegetables: carrots, peppers, aubergines, spinach, etc, dressed with olive oil and salt. It was a good snack, but a little too light for lunch.

Nice vegan snack available - Edit
I went on my first evening through rainy Assisi and was scouting (did not look here first) and that was really the only place where a vegan option was available.
Read moreI went there the next day and it is freshly prepared in front of you. I could even wash my hands (there was a grey kitty in desperate need of some cuddles). The place is very small you can sit on one of 4 high chairs facing the wall or eat at either two very small tables in the venue.
It is a good snack, but not a full meal.
