Crucial work for dogs on the island - Edit
They were founded 20 years ago and have no doubt hugely improved the dog populations on the island in terms of rescuing and treating strays.
Read moreTheir mission is very inspiring and the care and love they have for the animals is apparent and I believe they deserve all the support they can get.
Note: The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that they don't seem to have any vegan aspirations and they make use of 'food' animals to feed the animals they care for (so giving 5 stars is in conflict with HappyCow's values). This is understandable of course, though hopefully, this can change with time. There is a global shift in interest towards plant-based pet food and emerging research (such as that done by Professor Andrew Knight) reveal the issues with standard commercial options, and the potential for complete, and even healthier, plant-based options.
Pros: Improving the lives of many dogs and cats, Inspiring work
Cons: Not vegan

Such an important place - Edit
The number of strays on the island is very sad. Fortunately these guys do their best to take them in and nurse them back to health. Really nice people too. Can buy second hand clothes which goes towards their funding (which they desperately need!)
