SO CUTE - Edit
What a cute and fun little spot! the music is great, the vibes are awesome! Too difficult to choose just a couple pastries, we wanted to eat them all. We got the breakfast bagel and sandwhich on the biscuit. Both were top notch, so flavorful, fresh and tasty. We also got some cookies to bring home for later which were so good

So good, looking forward to going back - Edit
Everything we had was delicious, especially the apple pie and giant animal cookie. I had pizza and my friend had the breakfast sandwich; I loved the crust and she called out the biscuit. Highly recommended.

Favorite vegan bakery in PDX - Edit
I’ve been going here for years and I love it so much. The fact that everything is vegan AND gluten free is amazing. I’ve tried plenty of their pastries, brunch food, etc. Last year I even bought a pumpkin pie from them for Thanksgiving and it was a hit!

Gluten-Free Heaven 💚 - Edit
Petunia’s is a place you walk in and have to confirm with staff that everything is not too good to be true… this place is heaven for anyone with gluten restrictions! The presentation of the deserts is incredible and I sincerely wanted to order one of each item. Almost had to get a choco taco for breakfast!
Read moreAs previous reviews have pointed out- yes, everything here is gluten free. Thankfully! Yes, you can tell the food is gluten free. But they do a damn good job of disguising it, and regardless it is delicious! I will be back soon!

Sweet treats are worth a try - Edit
The coconut passion berry baby cake was a tiny bit dry (but could be because I saved it to eat later) and the salted caramel cookie bar was amazing. The cold brew with oat milk was so good.

PB cupcake - Edit
We stopped by around 2pm and had a peanut butter chocolate cupcake. The cupcake itself was a bit dry but I will give them a pass on that since it was afternoon and the dryness might have been just from the cupcake sitting out since morning. The peanut butter icing was excellent. Nice flavour, not too sweet and not weirdly greasy like some icing. Based on the icing alone I would definitely try more of their baked goods. Their large cakes looked amazing.

Great selection, savory & sweet - Edit
The breakfast sandwich was tasty. I almost didn't go here because of some of the negative gluten free bread reviews but the taste was on point. Also had a sugar cookie which was perfect.

I wish vegan places didn’t suck this much. - Edit
Got breakfast sandwich, previous review says it all. I didn’t read the reviews before coming here unfortunately. Dry, crumbly, overpriced. Just egg patty, with thin sausage patty and slice of cheese. I didn’t even finish it. Tried some dessert with pecans (idk the name but tasted like apple fritter?) and that one was definitely underwhelming as well. The cupcakes looked amazing, but didn’t try. The prices are on a higher side and taste doesn’t justify those prices. It sometimes feels like vegan places take advantage of vegans, I wish we could advertise these places instead of regretting of visiting them!

Okay- miss on the savoury food - Edit
I’m not gluten free- came here for breakfast. My prediction about gluten free biscuits was correct with my expectations (low) dry and crumbly. Ordered the vegan breakfast sandwich. Desperately needed a sauce, as was so dry and needed more flavour and fat. You can order it with gravy for and extra $3 which is a bit “rich” ;)

Coffee was good but didn’t like the sweetened soy milk.

Pros: Beautiful store, Friendly service , Big choice of sweet items
Cons: Unless GF - probably better places in Portland , Biscuits not good - needs fat and gravy to be good

Dessert, uncompromised. - Edit
Petunia's has successfully elevated vegan dessert into the stratosphere--you can compare it to any non-vegan dessert anywhere, and they hold their own! It's a little pricey but worth it: cakes are lush, moist and flavorsome, with generous portions to boot. It makes for an effervescent, teetotaling nightcap!

Awful, Dense & Overpriced - Edit
Had one slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream. It was $14 and really bad. I’d rate 1 star if I could.
Read moreThe pie’s crust was dense and had a very strange aftertaste. The glowing reviews are insanity to me. I’ve been vegan for 13 years and this place truly was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with vegan food… spending that much money on such an awful ‘treat’ that genuinely left a bad taste in my mouth.
Oh! And the vanilla ice cream. Good texture, but Virtually no vanilla flavor. How do you skimp on vanilla when making the simplest, most basic flavor?

Glorious! - Edit
I visited Portland for four days & I went here every day! It’s that good. Everything is vegan & gluten free and there was nothing I didn’t like. The sausage egg & cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich was delish, I swooned over the lemon scone and the cookies were really good. I think my favorite thing was the ice cream with caramel swirls and actual chunks of fresh blondie mixed in. Or maybe the awesome doughnuts (which are only available on the weekends). Get there early for the best selection.

Didn’t meet expectations - Edit
This was the first vegan bakery we visited while in Portland. We arrived around 1pm and there were very few options to choose from in the case or on the menu available. We did get the lemon cheesecake, chocolate cupcake with pink sprinkles as recommended by the employee, and a peanut butter brownie bar. We didn’t finish any of the deserts but only tasted them and were underwhelmed.
Read moreBummed but I want to give the benefit of the doubt and try again earlier in the morning.
Update review 3/4/24: I went back a different morning in hopes for more of a selection. Success. More to choose from at 9:00am so go early. Sadly, I ordered a lemon blueberry scone and a chai latte and neither were good. The scone had no flavor at all. No blueberry or lemon could be tasted. My chai tasted like the machine burnt it if that’s possible. My hubby had the cookie dough ice cream which was very very hard and we didn’t finish any of it.
