Calm atmosphere and helpful staff. The sauces were nice with vegetables or with eggplant and lentils. Everything was well spiced. Even raisin was nice which I normally hate. I remember being to Iran when I wasn‘t vegan yet. I only got rice with meat. You don‘t even find this there.
Recently discovered this place as it's a bit hidden (above a popular café) but have returned many times already!
Most if not all rice options are vegan, and they have 3 vegan sauces that can be mixed in a box as well. Super tasty and incredibly filling!
Our server didn't speak English so, even though I specified twice that I wanted the vegan ghormeh sabzi, she apparently still served me the beef one (not sure since I never actually tasted it). When I asked for a third time, she seemed to be saying they didn't have the vegan version even though it was on the board and there were two ghormeh sabzi stews on show. They apparently were out of another vegan option as well (the veggies one), so my friend wouldn't have got what she wanted either. We left without eating.
The food look authentic and I'm sure it's fine if you don't have a language barrier, but I'll never know.
Need to enter the pub downstairs to find the restaurant on the first floor. The owners were amazing friendly and went out there way to let me try all the vegan options. Yes everything is disposable, but the costs are kept at a minimum and everything is homemade. Never knew how much I loved Persian food till I came here.
A friend of mine introduced me to this place to have lunch together. It's a bit hidden as you have to cross the cafe on the ground floor to reach the stairs to reach the second floor where it is located. They offered three vegan dishes with several kinds of rice; I tried two of them and was amazed by their taste. Unfortunately, they use disposable tableware even if you eat on-site.
