Serves meat, vegan options available. Small Mexican restaurant, has a "veggie" section on the menu. The beans have no lard, but the rice has meat stock. Vegans could ask for potato tacos, flautas, fajita veggies, and dishes can be made without the rice. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-8:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-9:00pm, Sun 11:00am-8:30pm.

Perlita’s FTW! - Edit
Wow. First of all, the portions are HUGE and the prices are low. You could easily split just about anything on the menu. I appreciate that the menu is clear that while the refried beans do NOT have lard, the rice is cooked in meat stock. (I asked, and they don’t have just plain white rice on hand either.) First basket of chips and salsa is free, they charge a nominal fee for additional baskets of chips. However, the salsa you get comes in its own little carafe, so you get enough salsa to last the basket of chips and your whole meal. I’ve never seen a place do that. It was nice not having to always ask for more salsa! Service was SUPER friendly and the food came out quickly. This spot doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s a real gem!

Absolutely Fantastic Food - Edit
One of the best meals that I've ever had! My family stopped into Perlita's for dinner and ordered a couple of vegetarian fajita burritos, the potato tacos, and the huarache. The potato tacos were served in a deep-fried homemade shell. So good!!! I ordered the huarache. It was a homemade thick corn tortilla, served with red sauce, refried beans, grilled veggies. The veggies included strips of cactus. I think the cactus was lightly pickled. It added a brightness to the dish. I highly recommend that dish and this restaurant.

Authentic indeed, and great service - Edit
4 Crispy Potato Tacos (no cheese or sour cream) and Guava Jarritos

Quick service, inexpensive and tasty food, authentic Mexican options that you don't often see, what more could you ask for? Well, of course, more vegan options would be great, but what we got was good. The salsa was delicious. Only downside was an overly sweet Jimaica agua fresca. If we're in Crescent City again we'll definitely try to visit Perlita's again.

Large portions - Edit
We had the burrito supreme, added potatoes. It was a a large portion, tasted ok. I would go back, only because of the lack of options around.

Delicious Wet Veggie Burrito - Edit
I ordered a Wet Veggies Supreme Burrito without sour cream, cheese, and added potatoes. I didn’t tell the waitress I was vegan but she asked me if the rice was ok because it is cooked with chicken broth. Wow thank you for looking out!

cute & yummy - Edit
Perlitas Mexican Food is a solid choice when needing to find a medium between meat-eaters & vegans. their retried beans, tortillas & red sauce are all without animal products (not sure about the rice) so i went with a wet bean burrito which was the epitome of homemade mexican food. definitely worth a try & worth a stop!

Vegan - Edit
It was pretty good. I ordered the potato tacos with beans on the side. I was disappointed that the rice is made with chicken stock though. A bit tricky as a vegan but not impossible.

Mediocre - Edit
Kid who took our order didn't know what 'vegan' meant, but was knowledgeable about the menu, such as the fact that the rice is cooked in chicken stock. Ordered veggie fajitas, no rice, sour cream or cheese. It was okay, but as of early 2018 there aren't any good options in this city, so this is one of the few places a vegan can eat here.

Staff will give you info regarding vegan options. Very helpful. Quaint restaurant that has regulars, even though it is a tourist town. I will eat here again.
