One of the worst health food stores I’ve ever been to plus expired Fishel by years - Edit
Their restaurant was closed down by the health department.
Read moreI’ve lived in Florida over 15 years and Dr. Mercola, my better half have been to Peggy ‘s. But we haven’t been back in many many months. I have a video of the expired fish oil I found that I discovered was years old. I don’t take fish oil but I made quite the video. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone. Any of their locations.
Rud customer service, and Peggy! is one of the rudest of all and I will never be back.
Updated review after they were closed down by health dept. And I wrote a review about all the factual information and Peggy responded saying “are you still harassing us”. She didn’t deny that they were shut down by the health department, and that they were selling dangerous expired food. She’s one of the worst places and we highly recommend you stay away.

NEW
Update: you can see Peggy’s unprofessional libelous response below but doesn’t deny anything including having been shut down by the health dept. Avoid this excuse for a business at all costs.
Dr. Mercola and I live in Ormond and will never shop here again.
Expired fish oils that were over a year old sitting on the shelf that could’ve hurt someone which I recorded and shared on social media and went viral.
Since we first walked in the door and Peggy was so rude I was absolutely shocked she was the owner and barely acknowledged me though I was spending hundreds of dollars, it has been downhill since there.
We asked about the restaurant and their employees said they were shut down by the health department or other department. That’s why the restaurant in Ormond Beach wasn’t open anymore.
Lee is nice but Peggy! is probably one of the most rude people we have ever met and treats the customers badly as evidenced from really bad reviews on yelp and other review sites. We would stay far away especially with items on the shelf that were over a year old especially fish oil that could be dangerous. It was even out on display to sample which is even more dangerous.

Horribly rude owners. - Edit
The owner was incredibly rude. I had grabbed the wrong lotion and simply wanted to exchange my item. Not only was I denied that possibility but I was also lectured and yelled at for even politely attempting to do so. Won’t go back. Don’t know how they’re still open considering most of their inventory is expired.

Agree 100%
Read moreI actually left a review about the fact they were shut down by the Health Dept and sellling dangerous year old fish oil. Instead of apologizing she replied on Google reviews and said “are you still harassing us”. She is libelous and we have never even thought of reviewing their excuse of a business which is dangerous, to our millions of followers but I’m thinking about it. They need to be shut down. She’s a horrible woman.

Rude owners who ignore public health guidelines - Edit
My father has shopped here for 20 years. However on his last visit, he asked Peggy's husband, who was ringing up customers, why he wasn't wearing a mask (the county had just approved a mask mandate) and he declared he does not believe in it. Needless to say this is at odds with public health guidance and is dangerous given the elderly demographic of the area. The guy then chased my 80+ dad out the store and told him he looked half-dead. If you visit yelp you will see that this behavior is not unusual. His wife Peggy is just as rude.

This place smells disgusting, like rotten food. Do not recommend - Edit
The smell when you walk in is horrifying. I don’t know how they can act like it’s normal. I do NOT want to eat anything that comes from a store that smells like a dumpster. Hard pass on this place unless you need a quick cold can coconut water or Yerba Mate drink after the beach.

Horrifying Rude Service by Peggy Herself - Edit
Miserable dirty filthy store in Daytona with a poor selection of out of date spoiled merchandise. The owner Peggy is an ugly nasty old woman with no customer service skills. "We do it my way even if I am wrong or get out of my store" She wouldn't honor the price of the only item I could find to buy which rung up wrong when the tag on the shelf had a lower price. Why anyone would shop there is beyond me.

Yum! - Edit
Went for lunch with my boyfriend. I got the vegan wrap and he got the supreme wrap. We both were very pleased with our choices. The vegan herb sauce is great. Pricey, but great serving size so it wasn't disappointing.

no longer supporting this store :( - Edit
My family and I use to shop here A LOT. They are one of the few health food stores in town and we like to support that! :) We really went out of our way to do that with them, specifically, and it was frustrating.
Read moreThe main issue I had with them was their lack of organization and follow through. They were constantly out of stuff and would say they ordered it for the following week, but I would sometimes come back 2 and 3 times and it wouldn't be in. So many wasted trips :(
The last straw for me was going in with a recent receipt (having spent almost $200) and I wanted to return 2 items. One was a frozen food item that was just plain nasty, and another food item that was literally spoiled. Nicky (the owners daughter I believe) refused to take either item back. That was it for me, and my family. We have not been back since. So, for maybe $15 worth of products, they've lost out on 4 life long customers.
I do miss a couple of the employees though. I think they always did their best, under the circumstances.
I wish them well, as I do all small businesses. I just personally won't shop there anymore.
Pros: a few of the employees
Cons: bad return policy, always out of stuff, lack of organization
