Excellent neighborhood spot - Edit
Good menu; everything seemed fresh made (got nachos, burger, and seitan panini), and came back a second day for breakfast baked goods. Berry crumble cake and carrot cake were the best ever.

The food was delicious. Surprisingly so! The vibe is casual, kinda “hippie”. Feels like the west coast.

Peacefood is a cute restaurant in uptown, their tomato heirloom pastry was probably made with angel tears because it was so good. The pumpkin cream cheese muffin was sooo fabina. They have a more formal lunch and dinner menu as well!

Good pastries - Edit
One of the only UWS vegan brunch places. Entrees are mid-tier, and a bit overpriced for their quality. The carrot cake is delicious, so is the parmesan rigatoni. So are some of the other pastries

Service is great (if a little cloying), food tolerable but not great, incredible mini-brownies. The Caesar salad and raw chocolate slice I had were not very good, but made bearable by the good service.

Savory and sweet variety - Edit
This place has a great variety of savory and sweet options. We went for dinner on a Friday night and even though the street was packed we had no trouble finding a table here. Portions were big.

Tons of tables, it was buzzing but now crowded. We sat ouraide and the server was attentive and kind.

I got the chicken and waffles and she got seitan pesto panini. Both were wonderful.
The sandwich was huge, so we took it home. It's made with fresh-made focaccia and an amazing pesto sauce.
Can't wait to come back

Peacefood is not Peaceful - Edit
Order was not accurate but pushed to believe I was wrong, soup and meal not warm and they debated with me, saying they knew it was hot instead of just making it right. In addition, said I’ve voiced concerns about up charges in the past, which I never have. I always order straight off the menu so unsure of where that came from. I said they must be mistaking me for someone else. I’ve never met the server or manager before. All this in front of my kids when I took them for a treat out for dinner. Manager was nice, so while I didn’t agree with how they handled it, I didn’t make a big deal of it in front of my kids. Took my meal to go and heated it at home. Sorry to say I will not be going back there, which is disappointing. Food is mediocre at best recently and the staff does not respect its customers. Very sad but not worth the price anymore. Not all of us are made of money and when we take our kids out for a once in a while treat, we would at least like to enjoy our time there.

A variety of options—a something-for-everyone kind of place. I was craving something simple after so much food in the city on this trip, and the spaghetti squash with cauliflower, mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce was very comforting.

Cheesecakes out of this world! - Edit
I took my boyfriend here for lunch, but we mainly went for the cheesecake! We had the peanut butter and blueberry cheesecakes and they were both amazing. We also had the potato pizza and picnic plate, which were nice. They also had a good selection of hot drinks, but sadly weren't offering any juices or smoothies when we visited. The servers were super nice and made sure we got a table where we could easily store our suitcases.

Decent, Healthy Options and Fantastic Service - Edit
The last time I was at this location was in February/March 2017. From what I could recall, it appears they reduced the number of items on their menu by about 1/3. Disappointing.
Read moreI ordered a cup of the day's soup, Green Split Pea, along with the Raw Sushi Roll. The soup was really delicious, perfectly seasoned and quite satisfying. The sushi was little more than adequate and though keeping in mind that comparison is the thief of joy, I could not help but compare it to the sushi I've had at Beyond Sushi. PF's is nowhere near as good, but it was passable and clearly one of several healthy items on the uptown location's limited menu. Once again, I found myself unable to avoid comparing, this time the uptown PF vs. downtown locations of Peacefood Cafe; the downtown location comes out on top as far as menu options, spaciousness, and ambience. Nevertheless, I do find PF Uptown to be one of the best options on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, so if you're in the area, I recommend you go there.
P.S. Megan, my server, provided excellent service; was very attentive and responsive, and never made me feel rushed.
