Nice easy place to eat - Edit
We had a very nice meal here - lots of tables to choose from, easy relaxed atmosphere and good service. We had the hasselback sweet potato with smoky lentils & pickles which was absolutely delicious, and the spicy celeriac burger with chips which was yummy. Def recommend for a nice quick meal in York.

interesting - Edit
i had the cauliflower pit tray with smokey beans and fries, pickles and sauces. i really enjoyed it however i had a few issues. firstly, the cauliflower was HUGE, like massive. i reckon if they cut it in half or make kind of 'steaks' with it it would be a lot better, no way could i eat the full cauliflower and two sides. secondly, it needed quite a bit of salt, but once i added it it was good. the homemade sauces are really nice and i think for the amount of food i had £14 was reasonable however would prefer to pay £10 for less cauliflower, i left struggling to walk i was that full

Cons: too much cauliflower

Shhh....don’t tell everyone (vegan) - Edit
Ate here last month, the fries with the homemade pulled jackfruit burger were pretty awesome, as was the premium burger, best I’ve had in ages. Want to try the BBQ aubergine grill another time.
Read moreThe atmosphere in the restaurant bar is good, there’s a hidden seating area for the bar downstairs, worth a look, it’s York underground history worth seeing.
Update: Visited last night. Had the Roasted Spiced Cauliflower. Never have I ever eaten a whole cauliflower before and I still haven’t. Had all but about 3 florets. Totally amazing, as were the sides that came with it, I had fries and smoked bbq beans. £14 total bargain, couldn’t eat it all. Amazing.
Pros: 3 vegan options on current menu plus a special, High quality food
Cons: None
