The best vegan desserts I’ve had in years - Edit
Sadly my husband and I have always found vegan dessert options to be either overly sweet or just not great. Not the case here. Pastel & Coco is just fantastic. I can’t wait to try everything. We found the desserts to be nicely balanced. At least that’s our opinion. The staff there is super amazing and accommodating. Also, I once contacted them by email and received a response almost immediately. Plus they continued to communicate with me making sure all of my questions were answered. They are just fantastic!!!!
Read moreIf I had one negative feedback, it would be that I wish they had a better website with menu & pricing etc. I also wish they would keep it up to date.
Pros: Service , Food / Quality, Options /Variety
Cons: Website & FB can be outdated from time to time. , Lack of menu and pricing on website & FB

Omg!

Delicious Desserts and more! - Edit
This place was exceptional. We got a s’mores rice crispy, blueberry danish, and focaccia bread. They have a whole section of GF options, and a section that contains gluten. Definitely check it out! And it is right beside Astoria Bistro Botanique, we went their for lunch and picked up dessert at Pastel & Coco

Excellent drinks, amazing ice cream - Edit
Super nice spot if you're looking for a quality snack. A seasonal menu completes the year-round drink menu, which is already pretty good. I especially love the moon mylk, you can really taste the lavender in it (especially in the hot version, as every drink can be served hot or iced). A friend of mine tried the wild flowers drink, a spring special, and loved it.
Read moreI tried the watermelon soft serve, which is a summer special, and absolutely loved it. I was amazed by the taste of it. I also tried the tropical flavor, but it's less original (still good though!). The servings are bigggg.
I'm a bit less enthusiastic about the pastries, as I tried a few ones without being a hundred percent convinced. I had the tiramisu, the lollipop carrot cake and the lemon pie, and even though everything tasted good, it wasn't as amazing as I'd expected. I'm pretty difficult when it comes to pastries, and I know that a lot of people enjoyed their dessert at this place, so I'll keep trying new things every time I go. They really have an amazing choice of desserts, from classic recipes like the tiramisu to original stuff like the yuzu macarons. Still trying to find the perfect pastry out there!
The place is cute, there are a few indoor tables as well as one outdoor table on the street, but we don't have access to the outdoor patio of the restaurant next door (which is directly connected to Pastel & Coco).

100% vegan bakery in Gatineau - Edit
Gatineau is seriously stepping up its vegan game!
Read morePastel & Coco is a smallish bakery attached to Astoria. They have all kinds of delicious pastries and a few sandwiches. Really good drinks too, and I liked that they separated them based on caffeine content.

Amazing vegan desserts! - Edit
Pastel & Coco is hands-down my favorite bakery ever! They really showcase that vegan food does not equal boring food. There's always a wide selection of sweet and savory items, including many seasonal desserts. My go-to is the tiramisu (original or matcha-flavored). The staff are super friendly, the vibe and ambiance is very chill and modern. They're located right next to Astoria, an amazing vegan restaurant. You must check out this place if you're in Ottawa/Gatineau!

Wow! (All-vegan bakery) - Edit
Delectable and decadent treats, sandwiches to-go, cookies, squares, muffins, scones, quiche, pizza pockets, mousse, pies, macarons - all vegan! Also, some summer drinks, including lavender lemonade. On my first visit, I took home a huge chocolate-chip cookie and a s’mores blondie square - scrumptious. Next time, I bought 6 scones (day-old) and two muffins for half-price, plus a house-made Twix bar (yum), a pistachio macaron (mmm, melts in the mouth) and the tiramisu - absolutely wonderful! On later visits I took away a pizza pocket (good), all the other macaron flavours, the mousse (not as light as I expected, close to cake texture), a bbq jackfruit sandwich and a BLT tempeh sandwich.

They’re also selling fresh flower bouquets ($25) and some grocery items.
Bilingual staff, pleasant service.

Delicious - Edit
I popped in for a treat and to stock up my freezer after a long while of avoiding sugar. I was met with a friendly greeting, pleasant chat and knowledgeable info from owner. While the prices are high, they aren’t higher than non-vegan artisanal bakery. I mentioned I’d like to try a mocha, which wasn’t on the menu, and she whipped one up for me no problem. I’ll definitely be visiting again! Oh and so far, the cookie and brownie are delicious and I’m confident the other items will be too!

So excited to have a full vegan bakery in Hull. You wouldn’t know it’s vegan unless you ask or see their website. All the baked goods I’ve tried have been moist and flavorful without the extra sugar flavor that some vegan bakeries use to over compensate for the lack of butter.
