High quality ingredients - Edit
They use higher quality ingredients than a lot of places do, hence the higher price. I had a vegan modified burrito which was creative and very flavorful! However cafe was so loud it would be difficult to have a conversation, and doesn’t offer internet.

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
I had the tomato soup, mushroom toast and golden sunrise for the drinks. I liked all of them but my favorite was the golden sunrise. The cafe is really cute and they have many vegan options. They are also knowledgeable and flexible in making vegan versions of those on the menu which are not labelled completely vegan.

Great food but . . . - Edit
The food was great but I’ll never go back due to their inflexibility and how they turned my order into an embarrassing spectacle. They refused to make a wrap with tofu, avocado & potatoes inside). They wanted to start with a $14 wrap, literally delete everything inside, then add these items separately as sides. I ordered it anyway because I was with a coworker and we were running late. After I was seated, then the waitress came by and lectured me, saying this was a one-time-thing only and they can’t do that again in the future. When I got back from lunch, my coworkers and I had a long discussion how crazy it was to get a lecture after spending $30 for a burrito and a cookie. The simple solution is to offer a build-your wrap or just charge me for the sides and tell the cook to put it in a wrap and not embarrass the customer. Next time I’m in town, I’ll research other places for lunch.

Vegan Options - Edit
After hearing only good things about Parakeet Cafe, I wanted to give it a try. The menu has many vegan options that are clearly labeled, and it leans more towards a health-conscious menu. I opted for the charcoal waffle (mainly out of curiosity) and cucumber virgin mojito. The charcoal waffle was pretty good, and I especially liked the cream on top. The mojito was more like green juice, but still good. While I would not rave about this cafe like others, and it is pretty average to me, I understand the appeal. If you are in the area, interested in a health-conscious menu, and/or looking for a trendy spot that is vegan-friendly but accommodating to people of different tastes, this is a decent choice.

Clearly labelled vegan options - Edit
Good food & nice vibes. They offer a variety of drinks, foods, & pastries that are clearly labeled if vegan. A few things can be modified to be vegan as well, such as the surfer burrito. Close to the beach & Hotel del Coronado

Really cute place - Edit
First thing I ate was the vegan zucchini bread, and since most of the vegan baked goods are on the healthier side, it was what I expected (not too sweet). Then I had the matcha latte, which was not a taste I was expecting. I couldn’t really drink it, but maybe I haven’t had enough matcha lattes to compare it to. For my meal, I had the charcoal waffle, and that did not disappoint at all. Would definitely go back for it. All in all, a decent choice with multiple locations in the San Diego area.

Amazing food and coffee - Edit
There were many vegan options. All looked amazing but I went with the charcoal waffle and an oat milk cappuccino. Soo soo good. Perfect location from our hotel and located right in little Italy in San Diego.
