Delicious breakfast - Edit
Really good avocado toast! Vegan menu although there is an option to add an egg to meals. Well priced, particularly for Nice. Cute restaurant and lovely staff

Awesome brunch - Edit
Great pancakes! Super fluffy and very generous.
Read moreI've tried a savory pancake, a sweet one and the banana almonds toast. Everything is of very high quality, and the prices are also great. The staff is super friendly and smiling.
Everything here by default is still vegan, but they do offer eggs as an extra.
Recommended for filling breakfast, lunch or a snack.

Lovely little breakfast spot - Edit
We found this to be a lovely little breakfast spot.
Read moreThe menu is 100% vegan, a rare find in Nice! The avocado on toast was excellent and very good value for money. It came with a vegan blue cheese which the owner told us she made from cashews.
Coffees were very good, with options for oat, soya and coconut milk.
Watch out to be clear in your order, as we found that the waitress didn't have very good English. However, she was very friendly and the service was good.
All round a very good experience.

Everything is vegan, they were only doing the brunch when we went. €35 each and it was so worth it. Really delicious.

3.5* - My former favorite lunch place in Nice in 2023.. not anymore in 2024 - Edit
Update 2024:
Read moreAfter one year I was back to nice and back to paper plane for lunch.. and I was a bit disappointed. Service was not so good and the food was quite overpriced for what your get. They were out of juice and the menu seems to be based of both salty and sweet pancake options plus a daily dish. It was not bad, but also not impressive, so my go to place for lunch last year essentially turned into a one time visit this year. Quite disappointed.
2023 review:
Paper plane is a cozy small restaurant where you can eat tasty healthy food. I've never been there for breakfast but I had lunch twice and all I tasted was quite nice.
They are mostly vegan, as the only non vegan option is the egg at the avocado toast. Tried both main dishes for this week, eggless avo toast, gaspacho and the apple pie and all were tasty and well served.
Service is also nice, and so are the drinks (juices and smoothies).
Update after 3 more visits: Food was consistently good but after 13:00...13:30, they start running out of many of the dishes (and the juice), so beware and go got an early visit. All was tasty though and people there are nice. The smoothies can be a bit too thick, so I would say that's a point where they can improve.

3.5 stars - Edit
It is marked as a full vegan restaurant; however, they provide egg as an optional next to your toasties. I am a bit disappointed to see that from the vegan restaurant. I think the category of the place definitely has to be changed to vegeterian.
Read moreWe went for a breakfast, ordered Quiche and Pissaladiere. In my opinion for the prices, the portions are quite small. They are more of a snack than a meal. We ordered additionally Croissant to feel full.
Overall, I really like the decoration of the place. It is earthy colors and quite relaxing environemnt. They provide a free wifi, could be good alternative to work or spend some time online while having a coffee. The food is tasty, and it was a relatively fast service.

I was weirded out as well when I saw the egg option. But in fact, every dish is vegan and the only non vegan thing they have is the possibility to add an egg to some dishes as extra topping. I don't like it either but I'm not sure I'd consider this place "vegetarian", as in most vegetarian restaurants they have zero vegan options

Pretty average - Edit
I hate leaving negative reviews for vegan restaurants but honestly this place was underwhelming. While it is a cute place and the staff are friendly, the main dish I ordered was literally a bowl of cold rice, with 2 measly pieces of tempeh and some raw veg - and for 15 euros! The sauce was nice but there wasn’t enough of it. I did at least enjoy the juice but for 6 euros it was a little overpriced.

La Grande Assiete wins the prize 🙌🏆 - Edit
The hardworking owners run this place very skillfully.

The Grande Assiete option is a winner, as one gets to try all the starters as a main dish.

Casual Brunch Spot - Edit
While my husband and I found their menu to be on the smaller side, all of the food we tried here was excellent. They make their vegan cheese in house and it was delicious in the tortellini dish I ordered. My husband had the kimchi pancakes and mushroom skewers and was satisfied with both. Portions were on the lighter side.
Read moreWe tried their carrot cake and chocolate cake and these were some of the best desserts we’ve had in Nice.
I found the latte I ordered to be a bit bitter, but I appreciated that they had a variety of plant-based milks available (oat, almond and soy).
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a laid back energy and is fairly casual. Our meal didn’t feel rushed and this was a great place to spend a rainy afternoon.
Pros: Excellent food, Relaxed vibe , Fully vegan menu
Cons: Smaller menu

It’s ALL vegan and amazing - Edit
Happy cow says it’s a vegetarian place but it’s all vegan and all so amazing. A must visit! The portions are generous and the do a pretty decent wine pour too. The ladies who own it are lovely and accomodating with language barriers. We had the best pizza we’ve had in a long time, they make the almond cheese themselves.

Great lunch options, different weekly menu - Edit
I love going to Paper Plane regularly as they change lunch menus weekly. The food is always fresh and well-balanced with veggies and vegan protein choices with a variety of origins - Middle Eastern, Asian, French, Mexican etc. I love how flavourful the dishes are with light, flavourful sauces and spices, as so much vegan food in France is relatively unspiced and often bland. Try the vegan banoffee pie! It’s like a banoffee ice-cream cake, rich and decadent!
