This little grocery store has mostly local organic produce and an amazing selection of quality food products. Lots of great local options. We were in the area for 2 weeks and shopped here almost exclusively. Safeway next door imported all of their organic produce from the mainland

FANTASTIC place to get grab and go foods - we picked up a tofu poke, potato salad, classic hummus wrap with tons of veggies and a pb&j for my daughter. Was bummed they ran out of the eggless egg salad because it sounded awesome. Got tons of other snacks too!

Been shopping here for years, every time we visit beautiful Kauai. I found many of my familiar vegan grocery items from the mainland, plus beautiful tropical fruits and an excellent grab and go section with vegan choices. The vegan potato salad is the best I’ve ever had. Also had cold sesame noodles, tofu musubi, and a couple of different desserts. The chef cooks and restocks on Mondays so check on that day for the best selection.

Close to the only all vegan restaurant on this island, they have a ton of vegan cheeses and meats etc. We stayed on the island a week and were happy to stop here on day 1 to load up on a few vegan grocery goodies.

Disappointing deli options - Edit
This store is stocked with anything a vegan could need for groceries. We were here to eat lunch, expecting more than what was available. There is no longer a salad bar or a deli for orders, just a grab-and-go case.
Read moreWe ended up at Papaya’s after we tried eating at the vegan restaurant nearby, where we were told the kitchen closed the very minute we walked in the door. The people at the restaurant said Papaya’s had the best vegan lunch food around, with plenty of deli options. The deli case was full when we got there, and vegan options included a beet salad, potato salad, tofu poke, quinoa salad, and a hummus wrap. I opted for the hummus wrap, and it was not very good. We did not feel at all satisfied with what we ate. Another (large) family also got grab-and-go at Papaya’s after being turned away from the vegan restaurant, and they didn’t seem excited about their food either. I would shop here for things that cannot be found at Safeway, but I wouldn’t get deli food here again.
The traffic from Papaya’s to Lihue is backed up- it took 45 minutes to go a couple miles each day we made the drive.

I want to give this awesome natural foods store 5 stars, but Happy Cow will only let me give 4 since it’s not all vegan. Regardless, this spot is my favorite! I stocked up on vegan food here while traveling to Kauai for a week with my family. They have lots of staples—vegan cheese, vegan yogurt, vegan ice cream, vegan meat, vegan snacks, vegan sweets, etc. Plus they have fresh made packaged picnic-style foods like sesame noodles and vegan potato salad and garlic spiced edamame. All DELICIOUS. I came back several times for more!

If you are vegan (or even just looking for organic and natural foods, or natural sundries), this is a must stop. By far the best selection of products we found. The deli in back has a number of awesome eats on their menu, plus a nice salad bar. We had the vegan breakfast burrito and taro burger wrap and both were just delicious. We shopped and ate here several times during our stay. Pricey, but not too much more than what we are used to in Seattle. Many more options and better prices than Living Foods Natural Market.

Go here now!! We waited two days to try it and what a waste. Being vegan in Hawaii we've got used to eating more deli/health food dinners and they've been some of our best meals. This is the best of the best. Loads of choice, amazing staff and delicious food. Have the vegan reuben wrap, it is the best thing I've eaten on our holiday so far.

This place has a great selection of produce and cruelty free toiletries. Plus their ready-made sandwich wraps and desserts are very tasty with a healthy balance of protein and veggies. They still sell dairy and meat products but thankfully there isn't a lot of it. During our 10 day stay in Kapa'a, we stopped by this place for essentials almost every other day. If I lived here I would skip the Safeway and Foodtown and exclusively shop here!

So many vegan things from staple foods to treats. All the non dairy milk, butter, yogurt, etc you could want. Celebration roasts, vegan burgers, pizza and more plus vegan snacks, cereal and desserts. They even have Hail Merry tarts!! I haven't tried the food bar yet, but it looked really good for lunch. Super friendly people too.

They have a ton of vegan options whether it be hot foods from the cafe or frozen field roast and smart life options in the market section. Sad that I found this place my last day before departure or I would have stocked up earlier! All of their tacos are phenomenal and the salad bar is great too! Would have given 5 stars if this app would have allowed it. But beware, they do charge $1 for all of the sauces at the salad bar.
