Just one option, sadly - Edit
The bread is made with a yeast that has fermented with honey, therefore it is not vegan. All bread except a small baguette.

Few options - Edit
April 2023. They had one sandwich option, one desert and one something else. But they were kind and the sandwich was very accessible to take for the trekking (which is mandatory)

Nice bakery with a few vegan options - Edit
Nice bakery with friendly staff and a few vegan options. I had some vegan empanadas. There could be more but I’m happy to find anything vegan in El Calafate. Looks like some other baked goods and granola, but I didn’t try them.

Can save you as a last resort - Edit
This place should not really be on here, but I guess with the limited options in Calafate, it could help someone like it helped me.
Read moreThis is a small bakery selling European-style rustic breads, sliced sandwich bread, and pastries. The description mentions salads, but there was nothing but bread, pastries, and empanadas on the menu. They do sell granola (which honestly looks pretty terrible), and cartons of Almond milk, but other than that, it’s just a place to get a loaf of bread to make yourself sandwiches, which is what I did.
I asked staff which breads were vegan and was told none were. This seemed odd to me because I make bread and I know European breads don’t have animal fat in them, so I asked again and when they looked at their ingredients lists, turns out most of the breads were vegan. The lady there tried to weave this weird take of sourdough starter maybe having lard and that’s why she didn’t tell me it was vegan, but at the end of the day I got some bread and went on my way.
Still alive after eating the bread, so it is clean, and while it was decent enough bread, it wasn’t anything uniquely good or that I would even particularly recommend unless you’re as desperate as I was to make a packed lunch for excursions. There’s a grocery store a few blocks down where you can buy things to put in the sandwiches.
Pros: Friendly staff, Central location
Cons: Basically no vegan options, Staff has no idea which of their breads are vegan

Thankfully they had almond milk, the only place we found. Also vegetarian baked options and bagged granola / nuts to buy.
