Menu includes hummus platter, vegan falafel hummus plate, stirfried vegetables, popcorn cauliflower, chickpea bowl, avocado toast, penne with tomato sauce and penne with tomatoes, garlic and basil. Open Mon-Thu 9:00am-4:00pm, Sun 9:00am-4:00pm. Closed Fri-Sat.

Very good veg food available here

My review is for the Lakewood location. This place does not serve what most people call meat. It serves veg, dairy and fish like most kosher dairy restaurants.

This site reserves five starts for purely vegan places so I gave the highest possible rating given that they are not purely vegan and have eggs and fish on their menu.
This mediterranean-influenced cafe has a cheerful, bright and friendly vibe; it is casual and inviting rather than formal..
Customer service is very good, they accommodate special requests and modifications, no fuss and the owner often comes over to see how you liked your experience.
It is reasonable compared to other kosher dairy restaurants with similar quality food in the area.
The food is tasty with lots of options, there are lots of salads with diverse varied ingredients. They stay away from fake meat, sausage, bacon etc. Instead the vegan options contain less processed vegies and grains like avocado, mushrooms, quinoa, beans, lentils, chickpeas. I consider this a plus.
Breakfast dishes like shakshouka (excellent) and the scrambles are tasty. There are no vegan options for these (one can imagine tofu doing nicely in the shakshouka; perhaps they will develop such choices if they get requests.)
Good coffee and espresso drinks with or without caffeine.
As befits a cafe, it has a nice looking dessert selection but I haven't tried them.

Panini Cafe's Lakewood location is located a block up River Ave (route 9) from what used to be called Paul Kimball Hospital (now called Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus), so if you ever are in the hospital as a patient or visitor and just can't stand the hospital food, you can order breakfast or lunch out from Panini and it will be delivered within the hour right to the lobby of the hospital and they will let you know when it is there. You can order when they first open, ignore the cardboard and brown water served for the hospital breakfast, and dig into a veggie scramble from Panini while sipping a.luscious latte :).

Pros: Tasty food with a wide variety of options, Good coffee drinks, with and without caffeine, Cheerful, friendly and inviting

Cons: Salmon is farmed and no vegan breakfast specials, Takeout portions seem smaller, Only open for breakfast and lunch.
