Great breakfast options - Edit
What a lovely nice vegetarian restaurant , with a lot of vegan breakfast options. Also really good coffee, the best we had in Mexico so far.

Great food, nice vibes - Edit
We came here for breakfast and it was wonderful! Really yummy food, fun quirky menu, great service, cute space and decor. Also had English menus which was helpful for us. Definitely plenty of vegan options but felt more geared towards vegetarians (which could be a plus if you’re avoiding meat but want real cheese).

Vegetarian Mexican with many vegan options - Edit
Most of the menu options have vegan versions but default to dairy cheese so make sure to be explicit about wanting vegan. The torta I had was bland. My gf vegetarian partner said the dairy-based mole enchiladas were the best she has ever had.

Not good for vegans - Edit
The vegan versions of the dishes are very poor. You can find more creativity in normal restaurants. Vegan chilaquiles is chilaquiles with sauce for example. For the same price as the vegetarian version with veggie cheese and onions. Uh!

De mis lugares favoritos! - Edit

Food was not exciting.
Read moreWaitress was really nice and it was great to relax outside while there. However, I wouldn't go back as the vegan options were limited and tasteless. We did have a few treats from the bakery next door Chomp Chomp? Treats were a little dry, but made the trip a little better.

A few vegan options - Edit
I had read that Pan Comido Vegetariano doesn't have too many vegan options but we were in the area and needed to eat, so we checked it out. There were 3 or 4 menu items that were vegan, or could be made vegan. I had a burrito with root chips on the side. It was ok but definitely not as flavourful as vegan food we had elsewhere in CDMX. Our server also seemed a bit forgetful, and it took a while to get our drinks.

Way unprepared / untrained for Vegans - Edit
Honestly avoid this place and go elsewhere. There are so many good vegan options in CDMX and this really doesn’t make the cut.
Read moreApart from not stocking non-dairy milk, their vegan options of vegetarian dishes are very limited. At the time we went, they didn’t stock tofu so could only make one of the dishes for us. When this came, it was filled with egg - omelette style - even though we specifically stayed on three separate occasions that we were vegan and wanted the vegan option. We even asked for non-dairy milk in our coffee and asked about vegan desserts if this wasn’t enough of a hint as well.
Unfortunately, due to being vegan for very ethical reasons, it seemed wrong for us to ask them to change the dish which would have almost certainly involved throwing the food away. This obviously resulted in difficulties to the bill. A good restaurant, that we’re aware of their mistakes, would resolve the situation, apologise and not charge for the dish. Unfortunately they were adamant we should pay for it because we ate it. This ultimately proves they’re not very ethically switched on and generally just don’t care whether you’re vegan or vegetarian.
Avoid this place, they don’t care and Pan Comido does not conform to Happy Cow’s strict standards.
Pros: Outdoor space
Cons: Untrained staff, Very limited vegan options which are incorrect, No plant based milk
