Super açai bowl

I can’t get enough of açai bowls and this was one of the best. I’d say it’s actually reasonably priced for the amount you get in the Large. I love the great customisability and it was all super tasty.

Come to Coconut Beach 🥥

These are the best açaí bowls I've ever had, every part of the bowls here are enhanced by very rich, deep flavors, high quality ingredients, and unique layers.

I had the Bay Blend bowl which has layers of Açaí, Pitaya, Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Chia Pudding and a "Coconut Beach" layer made of coconut milk, coconut cream, and a blend of agave, coconut nectar, and molasses. Such a heavenly combination. The coconut beach layer alone is something I'd eat every day if I could. It was so creamy and unique!

I got a large bowl (24oz) and it was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Textures and flavors were perfectly harmonious which was really satisfying since many açaí bowls out there are watery with a one note flavor.

All of their ingredients are vegan EXCEPT for the optional additions of honey and collagen peptide powder. Very vegan friendly!

Pros: Coconut Beach layer!, Chia Pudding in an açaí bowl!, Very vegan friendly

Lovely smoothie options in the Marina and 100 percent vegan

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. So I heed to this maxim. For awhile I was doing the interment fasting of skipping breakfast just having lunch and dinner yet was missing out on the antioxidants and fiber of fruits. The plant based doctor Joel Fuhrman of the nutritarian diet aka nutrient dense vegan diet says best to have three fruits a day.

Easy to eventually find that even in the vegan paradigm different plant based doctors or diets will say different thing so eventually have to do as you feel and see what works.

Lately my breakfast has been apple slices with peanut butter, two bananas, non-dairy yogurt with goji berries, cacao nibs, and maca powder. I love my breakfast yet as chef Julia Child said all things in moderation including moderation.

I had to shake things up a bit henceforth came to Palmetto Superfoods for a smoothie. Palmetto Superfoods is right in the Marina near the Palace of Fine Arts and the Marina Library both of which I visited after getting my smoothie.
Tasty nourishing food, beautiful architecture, nature, and books. Yes please.

Sheana made my smoothie and she was very kind. I opted to go with the Pacific Blend Smoothie. The Pacific Blend Smoothie is made with pitaya aka dragon fruit, tropical spiraling, coconut milk, gluten free maple oats and brown rice granola, blueberries, banana, flax seeds, and lion's mane mushroom powder.

The Pacific Blend Smoothie was quite alright. Flavorful, healthy, and nourishing.

I have been a vegan 23 years now before it was cool and trendy. I am half Italian and Sicilian. I have no issue with gluten. I love pasta sometimes.

My father's uncle is 101 years old and ate a pound of pasta a day made different ways to fuel his very athletic lifestyle for decades that kept him strong into old age.

I am Italian so have no qualms with gluten and pasta etc so realize this is SF and I guess gluten free granola is necessary to stay in business especially in the Marina. I am an ethical vegan that strives to eat healthy plant based foods mostly and besides that have no other weird food issues like is common in SF. As Chris Rock once said we are allergic to food in this country.

The first Palmetto Superfoods was in the Inner Richmond on 3rd and Clement. This Marina branch just opened in the Summer. This spot is all vegan and many healthy smoothies on the menu including açaí bowls.

I will be back as have to mix things up a bit.

Pros: creative smoothies, all vegan, acai bowls
