Yummy vegan paella

The paella was delicious- totally vegan. And the sides were easily accommodated. They also had a portobello sandwich I wanted to try. Good wine menu, of course

Pros: The vegan options were delicious , Great wines

Cons: The hostess forgot we were waiting @bar for table, Very busy

Grateful

I’m so grateful to find a place while traveling with decent whole food, plant based options. The food is fresh farm to table ingredients, the staff is friendly and in good spirits despite the worldwide pandemic. The mushroom burger “fun burger” “veganized” with added green chilies is amazing. The vegan paella was good (a great concept , but VERY oily - and needed salt).

Pros: Several gluten free vegan options , Local farm to table ingredients , Great vibe

Cons: There could always be more vegan options

Beware of added meats

Food was good and service great but a virgin bloody mary was served with 2 large chunks of salami because 'that's the standard garnish'. We also didn't ask how the beyond burger was cooked. Now I've read the reviews, I wished I had asked.

Pros: They have tried to add options to their menu.

Cons: Meat automatically added to bloody marys.

Impossible Burger cooking issue

Nice restaurant cafe in downtown Palisade. However beware when ordering "vegan items" I asked if the Beyond Burger is prepared vegan and was told yes it was. When asked if it was cooked separately, the answer was no. It is deep fried with everything else. I asked if they could cook it away from the meat products and they said yes. HOWEVER it was cooked in a steamer tray and came out under-cooked and white looking like a chicken patty! I told waitress it was under-cooked and suggested they might want to cook them a bit longer. I di appreciated them attempting to make the vegan Impossible burger actually vegan, but "a steamer tray"? Is a small separate cooking pan on the grill, or even microwaving it, a lot to ask? Anyway, they seemed like nice folks and all that, but ordering vegan in a non vegan restaurant is always a gamble

Pros: Nice place, Helpfull staff, Some vegan options

Cons: Their idea of vegan may not be your idea of vegan.

Tasty and satisfying.

I came to this restaurant specifically for the Beyond Burger which you can not purchase at any other restaurant in this valley.
It was so delicious! I ordered it with avocado and mushrooms (in addition to the lettuce and tomato). *Pay attention though because they do add an aioli (mayonnaise) to the bun unless you ask for it without.

It was very tasty and it is also great to know they have other vegan options including a chocolate cake.

The beyond burger tasted exactly how a burger should taste. When looking inside, it looks like a burger as well. It is almost unsettling how real meat-like it seems.

Cons: A bit pricy.

Vegan friendly options

Palisade Cafe has added a few vegan options to their menu. We tried the paella, chocolate cake, and Beyond Burgers. Everything was well prepared and the staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients! We will definitely be back again!

Pros: Very knowledgeable wait staff, Fun downtown location, Sunday brunch options

Cons: A little pricey
