farm to table

the vegan & veg options are labeled. the menu changes so check online before going to see what they have. at the time of my review, the vegan options were a hummus plate with falafel, mushroom wellington, and blood orange tofu. i got the hummus and the tofu dish. the hummus was good, and the falafel was even better. they were small and crisped perfectly. the blood orange tofu was also good, but i didn’t taste any orange. i mostly tasted sesame oil and cooking wine, but could tell everything was fresh. though the portions could be considered small, i left feeling full and didn’t finish my whole plate. it’s a nice place to go if you have a special occasion.

Cons: limited options , no vegan desserts , more of fine dining, so it’s expensive

Excellent date supper place

Highly recommend this place. Seafood and meat mostly but several vegan options. Our food was excellent. Service friendly and attentive. Lovely ambiance. Would be five stars but for it not being solely vegan.
Editing since we came back here a second time. Still great service, large portions. They serve Sharrott’s winery wine which is good - we live in Central PA and were skeptical but we ended up visiting that winery and doing a tasting and buying six bottles lol. I think they also have some beer in bottles. This time I had the zucchini linguine which was delish.

New name Ott’s Good Earth Garden, 5 star great place

New name same great food. There were at least 5 vegan options and a few vegetarian, real food no faux meats or cheeses just real Whole Foods. I’d give 5 stars but happy cow doesn’t let unless it’s 100% vegan/vegetarian. I had stuff portabella w/ curry cauliflower, mrs had zoodles with veggies, both were so good and very large portions. This mainly is a seafood restaurant with a plant based section on the main menu, high end atmosphere type place with byob. Well worth the drive, only mile off route 72 just before LBI. This may now be my favorite vegan restaurant even tho not all vegan, but have to appreciate the effort. Service and staff were excellent as well. Not inexpensive but maybe a little higher because of pandemic or just cause it was high quality food, our bill was about 60 bucks for 2 of us

Pros: Lots of quality real vegan options, Food was so good, Staff & service excellent, friendly & attentive

Cons: A little expensive , Not 100% vegan

Good options

Mushroom Wellington was not vegan due to the phyllo being not vegan.😒Had the zucchini linguini and shepherd pie. The blackened tofu for the linguine made it substantial enough for an entree but $7 for 2oz.

Pros: Tasty vegan meals, Clearly labeled menu, Knowledge staff

Phyllo is one of those “accidentally vegan” foods. It’s flour, water, and (sometimes) olive oil. Their Wellington is completely vegan and delicious!

did you ask them and they said it wasn’t? it’s labeled vegan on the menu.

Phenomenal Mushroom Wellington!

We shared the mushrooms in fillo dough over spinach and mushroom risotto from the plant fare section of the menu. Hard to believe it was really vegan! We also split the spaghetti squash primavera special. It was bursting with fresh summer flavors. But the Wellington was the star.

The menu is mostly nonvegan (pasta made with egg, etc.), but the vegan options are out of this world!

An unexpected gem in Manahawkin

I loved this place and had a great meal there. The chef came out and talked to us and he seemed to really like making vegan food. It's primarily a seafood place, but once we asked for the veg menu the waitress bought us a separate menu and encouraged us to ask for anything on the main menu to be made with tofu. I had a coconut crusted tofu with really good brown rice and perfect steamed veggies. There was a peanut dipping sauce with the tofu. I had enough food to take home for lunch the next day. I could have practically made a meal of their yummy, warm bread served with a spread I would describe as an olive hummus. When I went to visit my mom in Manahawkin I did not expect to have such a great meal. This vegan food would be at home in any major city, but the fact that you can find it in tiny Manahawkin is an unexpected treat. There is a singer and keyboardist on Tuesday and Wednesday nights which adds to the environment. The music selection and volume were perfect to add background ambiance. The place is somewhat upscale, especially for Manahawkin. You would fit in wearing anything from business casual on up to dressed for a night on the town. I didn't have any alcohol, but I believe it is BYOB (double check if important to you).

Just so you know, there was a strong seafood smell in the lobby but I found it not obtrusive or strong in the dining room.

Pros: excellent food, upscale, location

Magnificent!

I am amazed everytime i have dinner here. I have actually been a customer for many years; and let me tell you there is no end to what Chef Peter can do with tofu! They are happy to accomodate any diet choices, and the chef comes right out to explain how he makes everything! GO ENJOY!

Pros: excellent food, great service , byob
