It’s okay - Edit
Lots of vegetarian options, kinda expensive for what it is. Please don’t order the nachos tho- literally just corn chips with some sliced cheese melted on top.. the soft tacos were alright with beans but yeah definitely nothing special.

Absolutely Gorgeous - Edit
We walked to Otis from our hotel after finding it on Happy Cow. Subsequent to a lovely still, we came across the quirky wee restaurant. Inside it was eclectic and cool. The owner and his wife have run the place since 1987 - it regularly hosts live gigs as well as being a “mex-tex” eatery.
Read moreIt was just lovely - they have added a house-made tofu cheese to the menu so that the numerous veggie options can be easily veganised.
We had the tortillas, the pizza, enchiladas and nachos. To top it all off we had the nose delicious vegan apple and walnut cake that was fresh, moist and covered in warm blueberries.
The dishes are small but this is Japan - not the mid-west! We were more than happy when we walked away again full but not grossly so. We were totally, absolutely satisfied.
Highly recommend!
Pros: Lots of veganisable options., Delicious food., Wonderful atmosphere!

Funky and awesome! - Edit
I read the previous reviews of Otis but this was not what I was expecting. When you walk in, it’s very hippy vibe/ dive bar vibe, with writing on the walls and vinyls playing. Food was great, even if the dishes were a bit worn. Vegan soy cheese made in house available and anything can be made vegan by substituting.

Slow and not very tasty - Edit
They have many vegan options, but unfortunately, they are not very tasty. The service is also quite slow, even though there were only 7 people there including us. If you have time to spare and you're somewhat hungry, you can give it a try, but if you're starving and short on time, go across the street.

Excellent vegan food! - Edit
Very cosy rustic restaurant, we visited on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet. Full of vinyls and cds and a very tiny stage for live music (none playing on our eve)
Read moreWe shared 3 vegan dishes: Enchillada, chilli and nachos all served with homemade soy cheese which was delicious! To finish up we took two slices of the vegan cake - apple and cinammon, again, incredibly tasty.
Pros: Clearly labelled vegeterian dishes., Otis told us what could be made vegan
Cons: None.

Cosy restaurant with good food - Edit
The restaurant felt really cosy and homely. I had enchiladas which were very tasty and the vegan cake which was delicious! There was a sign to say they serve homemade soy cheese (although we didn’t try this) Would definitely recommend anyone in the area to check this place out!

Okay food, amazing cake - Edit
Had the pizza, avocado salad, vegetarian chili and some more nachos between two of us. Small portions so order enough to share. The food was okay. Most of our dishes had the vegan soy cheese on which isn’t the worst I’ve had. The avocado salad is very yummy and flavorful. Had the vegan cake, not sure what was in it but it was heated and very yummy.

Nice tapas style Mexican - Edit
Quick and tasty Mexican. Lot of vegetarian and vegan (vegan cheese!) options. The dishes are small, so for the two of us we chose 4 dishes and shared, hence

Good taste of you need a Mexican hit - Edit
The food tasted good, but not the biggest meal in the world (had enchiladas and avacado with nachos but still a bit hungry), with cola all came to 2000. English spoken, English menu and clearly vegetarian marked in the menu, then I think you can ask for vegan cheese etc. Easy to find and close to the park.

Good food, reasonable price - Edit
They serve meat as well but have a lot of vegan options. The avocado salad is nachos and avocado and is a great starter. Would recommend getting two mains rather than one as they are small, but they are priced to reflect this. The enchiladas were good, slightly spicy. They make their own vegan cheese which tastes different but good. Pizza was also okay. The nachos are just chips and cheese so would be a good starter rather than main. I got a vegan orange and almond cake which was not nice at all. It was dry and has large chucks of orange peel in it.

great vegan cheese! - Edit
We came here for dinner and had the enchiladas and the soup plate! Both were delicious! The cheese they use is house made and it’s really good! The owner speaks English.

Decent Mexican - Edit
We had the vegan enchilada, tacos and the avocado salad with chips. The food was decent which is why I have given it 3 stars, I can’t quite stretch to say it was very good (maybe something in between!). I also had the green smoothie which was lovely and apparently the beer is good!

Exactly what we needed - Edit
We were 5 people and had a great time! Everything was very tasty, we even ordered a second round of meals. Extremely cozy music with a charming living room. Things in my memory they offered which were vegan:
Read moreNachos with cheese for 500 yen.
Tacos, Chili, Enchildas, Curry, Pizza all for 750 Yen. Cake for 400 Yen.
Habe to disagree with the prior review, for us it was spicy enough but the portions could have been bigger. Only the curry is quiet big.
Last but not least, the owner and Service (Otis I think) was incredible heartwarming. Such a lovely man.
Had everything for 5 stars but they serve meat as well.
Pros: Lots of Vegan options , Warm atmosphere , Heartwarming Otis
Cons: Portions quite small

Gorgeous gem in Hiroshima, very vegan friendly - Edit
The owner, an old man who speaks English fluently, recommended the Enchiladas and the curry, which we ordered, and the food was amazing. Lots of dishes can be made vegan. 850 Yen for each dish is a very reasonable price, especially the curry, which came with a fried naan bread and brown rice, turned out to be a huge portion. The vegan cake was really good as well. The place is very uniquely decorated, nice background music, lots of books and magazins which gives it all a cozy, chill flair that shows the owners personality.

Great Place, Definitely Recommend for Vegans! - Edit
This place was great, it had vegetables that were cooked really well. I had the vegan plate. I can confirm reports of vegan cheese and vegan cake. The vegan cake (ビーガンケーキ) was nice, the vegan cheese was not the worst I have had. They had this really good shredded carrot (にんじん) with lemon, which sounds boring but was really good. They also had red peppers (ピーマン) dipped in some oil that was really good:)

Great place for a bite to eat - Edit
We went to Otis really early in the evening- 5:00 - as we’d missed lunch and were too hungry to wait for the live music but we could see how this would be a great place when it kicks off. The food was great and we tried the soy cheese which was really nice. The vibe was very mellow, the host was welcoming and the music was chilled.

Delicious vegan lunch - Edit
I went there for lunch. I took the vegan lunch with a lentil curry and rice, served also with a peace of flat bread (for 850 yen). I loved it, it was delicious! I also loved the atmosphere of this restaurant with reggae music, wooden tables and chairs, vinyls and CDs, old pictures... Loved the vibes in here. So uncommon in Japan. A pleasure!

Weird - Edit
The guy running the place with his wife was a nice enough guy but the place was just weird and unvomfortable. Very cluttered with things and really monotone, depressing music was playing. Food portions are small and not very tasty.
Read moreOther reviews have mentioned microwaved food. This is definately correct. The plate was so hot that I burnt myself on it.
The green smoothie we bought was warm and watery. It didn't resemble the ingredients from the menu at all. If you're vegan/veg there's definately food you can have but ultimately I'd rather go elsewhere.
Pros: vegan options
Cons: over priced and odd
