Not as excellent as we hoped - Edit
This place was pretty tasty, but not as amazing as others indicated here. We got the falafel wrap with Caesar salad, the Brussels sprouts, the beet Rueben with curry fries, and a large frisée and citrus salad with tofu. The falafel sandwich was short on falafels, the beet sandwich was a little too many beets and not enough other ingredients, the salad was good, the only n/a beer was… boring.

Eat at Otherlands!! - Edit
This spot defied expectation. Most menu items have a vegan option, and those options are well executed! Got the falafel wrap w/caesar salad and an order of salt and vinegar “fancy frites” for the table. The salt and vinegar fries come with a vegan dill garlic aioli that goes so, so well with the fries. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try the vegan pierogi next time around!

The best! - Edit
We had the Smashed Potato Hash & Tofu Eggs(Vegan) and loved it. The textures were great…crispiness of both the Brussels sprouts and potatoes, with the sweet pop of juice from the grapes. This is something I wouldn’t make at home, which makes this meal even better. Portions are a good size and we were able to split it and feel satisfied.

Pros: Good portion size, Indoor and outdoor seating options, Great vegan options

Great beer, cute vibe, plenty of vegan options! - Edit
I’ve been to Otherlands a handful of times and always enjoy my time here. The food and beer is European inspired and there are plenty of interesting/unique options to choose from. Almost everything can be made vegan if it’s not already - just wish they’d decide to completely ditch the dairy and eggs and go 100% vegan for the animals. Regardless, it’s great to have an almost vegan brewery in the area. I really liked the falafel wrap, Caesar salad, spicy fries, Brussel sprouts, and pierogies! The space is also very cute and cozy - plenty of outdoor seating as well. Great spot in Bham!

Superior restaurant - Edit
Based on what I read here, I ordered the beet reuben, and was not disappointed. It was tasty, huge, a real treat. I also had frites with salt and vinegar, delicious (except it had way too much salt, had to brush some off). My husband got the potato latkes, excellent with compote, probably not vegan (we didn't ask). The atmostphere was very nice, and I was pleased that the music wasn't too loud (a real problem in many places these days). The service was great, too.

Really nice beer and excellent food. We shared the falafel wrap and Caesar salad. Definitely gonna try the pierogi's next time. And the cauliflower sounds really nice.

Lots of character - Edit
Otherlands popped up as one of only three all vegetarian or vegan options open on the Sunday we were in the area. It was a bit slow and unclear about getting seated, but once we were we both enjoyed the atmosphere and decor around us. Originally we picked items on the breakfast menu and didn’t realize it was too late in the day, it is noted on the menu but the fact they labeled it as “second breakfast” made us think it was available all day. Anyway, the food we did get was enjoyable and I’d definitely go again. Beet Rueben was yummy, but personally I’d prefer tofu or what not in place of meat, more, even as a big beet fan.

Amazing beet reuben!! - Edit
The smoked beet reuben was phenomenal. I had my doubts but had to try it. I can't wait to go back. A big portion all well. Caesar salad was great, not too sauced up. Awesome chunky fries. The pierogi's and latkes looked awesome too.

Great Eastern European Vegan Fare - Edit
Otherlands offers several vegan dishes that are well thought out and hearty. They don’t alter meat dishes to make them work for a vegan, they make delicious vegan food that’s reminiscent of its former meat-version. The Beet Reuben and Mushroom Pierogies are my favorite, and I think they have the best fries in town.

Hidden gem - Edit
I was not expecting my mind to be blown when I went here for beers one afternoon. The vegan pierogis were exceptional! All the vegan seasonal menu items are tasty. I can’t say anything bad about this place except that I wish it was all vegan.

High-quality vegan/vegetarian entrees with casual outdoor COVID-compatible seating - Edit
Vegetarians rejoice! Non-IPA fans celebrate! (although you can get an IPA here if you want) Our party of three ate lunch and had beers at Otherlands for the first time and I can't think of enough superlatives to describe it.
Read moreWe were very impressed by the beers. The Night Mayor was awesome - our favorite of the three we tried. The Excessive Celebrations and Household Gods were also excellent; even though we don't usually go for light beers, the EC and HG were richly flavorful and we could really taste the fruity/smooth character.
We also loved our entrees! You won't find them on the regular menu - we ordered items from the special Bellingham Veg(an) Fest list and Sunday Sept 27 2021 was the last day for this year. BUT the menu is all-vegetarian, with vegan options, and we are eagerly awaiting our next visit so we can sample the regular items that others have raved about.
Lastly I'll mention that the outdoor seating situation is GREAT. I think I counted 10 outdoor tables (some for 2 people, some for 4). They have an open area under waterproof sails, and also a more protected hard-sided, but still open, roofed structure in the street. I think it'll be possible to eat outdoors throughout the year if outdoor dining is your preference. (It's ours.)
One more thing - the staff were SUPER helpful, both in helping us choose beers and in ordering our food. Highly recommended!!

All vegetarian menu, lots can be made vegan. Went here with three meat eaters and they all loved what they got! I had the vegan Reuben made with beets, definitely different but very good! Good beer, really cute two story space with outdoor seating as well. Went for Oktoberfest, had a delicious festbier.
