More options than expected in Italy - Edit
You have to ask for a separate vegan menu (I don't understand why it's simply not a part of the menu everyone gets). There are a few options for every phase of an Italian dinner - antipasti, primi, secondi, dolce. There are also some vegan pizzas - but you can choose any vegetarian pizza on the ordinary menu and swap the mozzarella with a vegan one.
Read moreI tried parmigiana and some pasta. Both were very good - although I'd expect the portion of parmigiana to be a bit bigger (it was in the secondi section of the menu).
I'm definitely coming back to try some other things they have on the menu. :)

They have a separate vegan menu that you have to ask for. The options all looked pretty good, they have appetizers, first and second course, and a dessert.

—They also gave us an appetizer which we hadn't ordered, the waiter told us its from the house, so I was a bit surprised when I saw it on the receipt afterwards, it was €2 per plate, for basically a piece of lettuce, two olives and a big caper. Felt a bit scummy, I have no idea if this is common in Italy as I've never seen this done before in other restaurants.—
It didn't take away from the experience that much as the rest of the food was really cheap, but still felt a bit scammed.

I was finding it difficult to find vegan pizza in the area, but HC guided me here and I was so happy with my pizza. The waiting staff were lovely and the pizza was delicious. Would eat here again.

This traditional Osteria (although modern in appearance) is a perfect place for a lovely evening. Conveniently located with seating outside (reservations recommended) and inside offers a good range of vegetarian options and also has a vegan menu (you have to ask for it though).

So far the best dinner in Trieste. I recommend making a reservation. Competent staff. Vegan menu unfortunately only available on request. Excellent Italian cuisine without frills. Excellent! Coming back tomorrow.

Probably the best vegan pizza in the region.

Il menù offre antipasti, primi, secondi e un dolce vegano davvero buoni e gustosi. Le pizze hanno un impasto fantastico e sono ben farcite (anche la mozzarella di riso viene messa in abbondanza). I prezzi sono più bassi della media! Ambiente molto carino e accogliente con personale gentile. L'unica cosa che mi e dispiaciuta è dover chiedere il menù vegano perché, se non mi fossi informata prima, avrei ordinato una pizza marinara senza sapere che c'era un menù a parte così bello.

The restaurant is not vegan, but they have an extra vegan menu (Ask for it). Appetizer, pizza and dessert were incredible! Really nice and helpful service. Oh and I recommend making a reservation.

A cosy restaurant with a separate vegan menu (you have to ask for it). The food (vegan and non-vegan) was amazing. Some of the staff were super friendly, some equally (and strangely)unfriendly🤪. Couldn't lessen our delightful dinner experience though. Only disappointment: vegan dessert from the menu wasn't available. Will definitely go again hoping to get that dessert after all😂

we had dinner there. they have a seperate vegan menu. just tell the staff and they will bring it. i ordered pasta with tomatoes, olives and capers. which was super great. my girlfriend took vegan pizza. it was folded like a calzone, also super yummy. we were shocked by the prices. everything is super cheap. all thumbs up. best place to go in triest.

Friendly, helpful staff. The waitress spoke good English. There was a separate vegan menu (unfortunately not in English) with multiple options for all courses, which were all very reasonably priced. Two of us had two courses and two medium beers each for a total of just €51. All the food and particularly the pizza, was exceptionally tasty.

A great separate vegan menu (has to be reauested). A great number of choices between starters, pasta, burgers and pizza. We had 2 pizzas and the rice cheese is amazing. The starter pizza frita was amazing, I never has such tasty tomato sauce. Animal friendly.

Last year we have been here before, and we came back to trieste this year mainly because of this Restaurant. They have a whole vegan menu when you ask for it. The homemade rice-mozzarella is breathtaking and the parmigiana is delicious. Also the prices are absolutely okay for what you get! We will go there a lot of times in the next days 🤤

Excellent location just off the popular V.le venti settembre, it would be worthy of 5 stars (not allowed because it isn’t exclusively vegan/veg) but their separate vegan menu was delicious, with 3-4 options on each starter/primo/main and dessert.

Large menu for non -vegan/veggies too so good for groups. Highly recommended in Trieste

Separate vegan menu and delicious food! Had the pizza gialla which was excellent and only €8! I can’t wait to go back and try all the other options! So nice to have somewhere that does both meat veggie and vegan so your whole group can have great food without compromising on atmosphere or limited menu options. Lovely staff, lovely setting 👍

Best vegan Pizza in Triest - Edit
Maybe the best vegan Pizza I have ever had! We went their twice. You have to ask for the vegan menu (which is only Italian) The first time I had the vegan Margherita with Olives and the second time I had the pizza with yellow tomato sauce, rice mozzarella, yellow tomatoes and red tomatoes. It was so delicious. At our first visit my girlfriend had the pizza with just rice mozzarella and "Friarielli". This one was also good but it was a little too much rice mozzarella and we missed the taste of tomato sauce.

When we came to Trieste we were sceptical if we can find any restaurant which serves vegan food. But we were surprised as we visited this place. They have a fully vegan menu which you have to ask for. They serve traditional Italian dishes which are very fairly priced. You can get a pizza for 8-10€ and pasta for 10€. The waiters were also very friendly. The only negative point was that the menu was only in Italien available. We helped our selves with the iPhone camera translator function.

Granted, this was the first meal I’ve ever eaten in Italy, but it was absolutely incredible! There is a full vegan menu. It’s only in Italian, but the very helpful waiter translated the entire thing for us. Between two people, we split the bruschetta, chickpea pasta, eggplant parm, and a pizza (they didn’t have a vegan dessert that day). It was just the right amount of food for two hungry Americans to leave a little too full. With .5L of incredible house wine and two beers, the bill was 50€, which is a steal by US standards. Everything was good, but I will dream of the eggplant parm and tomato sauce for the rest of my life!!

Can only chime in with the others: ask for the vegan menu. They have a variety of appetizers, primi, secondi and pizza. Everything was super tasty and well-cooked. The pizza dough was amazing. We had a vegan pizza with yellow tomato sauce, topped with rice-based mozzarella. No exaggeration: the best vegan pizza we had so far. Absolutely recommended!
