Nice, but Pricey

I had quite a good time at Os Tibetanos on New Year's Eve - the place was busy, but they managed to find a seat for us despite not having reservations, and the staff were friendly and helpful. That said, there wasn't a huge amount of Tibetan food on the menu, with it seemingly being more of a generic Asian affair; and the amount of dumplings you actually receive might be a little low for the price. All that said, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was appealing, so I'd recommend giving it a go if you're not on a budget.

Very good!

When I go to Tibetanos I always ask the vegan bowl Ping Sha Alu. It is ALWAYS worth it!

Disappointed

Very simple food, vaguely tibetan and overpriced, in a business hotel zone. One dish with plain rice, green beans and tofu curry: 10.50 euros. You can eat better cheaper and/or more vegetarian food in almost any other place in this list. You may pay for the zone but not for the food. Disappointed.

Pros: kind staff, fast service

Cons: looks a bit fake, overpriced

decent, simple food. great atmosphere

We had dinner there tonight and were not impressed. The vegan options weren't that many. We had the momo starter which was like fried pieces of dough (not bad), the momo entree (dumplings) filled with seitan and the mango curry (meh). All in all, nothing special. No vegan desserts

vibrant addition to the city's veg scene

What a great surprise... peaceful atmosphere, air-conditioned, spotless. I was only going to get momos but the plate of the day looked so good, so I went for it: fantastic! The momos were also superb and once you've tried them you'll probably be back for more.

Regarding comments about the blandness, note that, as in many Portuguese restaurants, you have to specially request the hot sauce (which is often homemade). This place has an absolutely killer—and spicy—house concoction with habaneros. They were even nice enough to give me extra for my takeaway.

Highly recommended, this place adds a nice bit of diversity to Lisbon's already great vegetarian offerings.

Pros: flavorful, friendly, unique

Nice Atmosphere But They Lacked Spices Completely

Its a very loveley atmosphere and well decorated.the service is so friendly but if you really want to eat tibetan food ,you are at the wrong place.it tastes like not so well spiced italian food.the momos where deep fried bread with herbes provencale which was good but not what you want to eat in a tibetan restaurant.the spinach curry was very bland and came with cauliflower at the side with nothing on it.thanks god there where a bit of coriander.im sorry to say that it was lisbons worst restaurant

Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Location

Cons: Food

Atmosphere sets the standard

It took the 4th visit to Lisbon to finally get round to visiting this place due to the amazing selection of veggie places in this amazing city. I'll cut to chase here and say it's a 5 for first impressions and ambience but a 3 for food so certainly deserves a 4 overall. The building is absolutely gorgeous and once inside you are mesmerised by the temple-like tranquility and ambience. Friendly staff look after you in every way possible way. I'd suggest a seat in the covered garden area which is serene and inviting. The wine list is good and at €8.20 for a bottle of house, you definitely cannot grumble. Now to the food. We had samosas which were decent but not earth shattering followed by a seitan and a tofu curry. Both tasty but again, uninspiring. As others have suggested, the food isn't worth the price. At €10+ for a main course I was expecting something pretty special. On the plus side, it was a fresh change to go to a veggie place in Lisbon that wasn't a buffet. Yes, I would eat here again.

Pros: gorgeous setting, friendly staff, clear vegan labelling

Cons: over-priced food

overrated

spent 29€ for 2 mains and 2 wines. momos: 5 small dumplings with beetroot and zucchini and a tiny dish of sauce. at least they were tasty. the mango curry was bland. everything on the card is with tofu or seitan. portion sizes small. cheap eatery food and service with expensive prices... never again.

Cons: prices, service

Good Food, Lovely Atmosphere

This place has a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. This is partly due to the layout and Buddhist decor, but mostly to do with the calm and kind service given by the staff.

There are a wide variety of dishes on offer. For dessert don't miss the ice cream cake if you eat dairy. Reasonable prices, but not cheap cheap.

Pros: Staff, Food, Range Of Wines

Cons: At Top Of Steep Hill!

Really good choice, vegan friendly

Beautiful place with a very nice atmosphere. The service was also very good, with the owner checking regularly if we were satisfied with our food.

The vegan options are not too many but they have excellent very tasty vegan dishes.
We loved the vegan salad (big and varied plate enough for two people), the momos (dumplings with seitan or vegetables) and the mind blowing chocolate cake that definitely made me write this review.

Good choice at a medium range price.

Pros: Atmosphere, tasty vegan food, excellent chocolate cake

Cons: Not too many vegan options

Os Tibetanos

Wonderful place to eat! Tasteful decor (if you walk further into the restauant and down the steps, there is a lower level which is very pleasant to eat in). The food is delicious and the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful.

Pros: Good food, Pleasant environment, Friendly staff

Excellent food and athmosphere

Food was varied, unusual, sophisticated to the right point and excellent.
All is very well presented and the restaurant has a very nice vibe. It seems a Tibetan temple from a distance, although this is never too heavy and there are modern elements elegantly added.
Drinks are also good.

Would be nice to have a clearer understanding on whether and how they are linked to a Buddhist Tibetan group, as this is very subtle.

Pros: excellent food, variety, positevely sophisticated

Good food but very limited vegan options

Os Tibetanos is a nice place with good food but offers very limited vegan options. When we were there they only had two vegan mains plus the "simple dish" (vegetables with rice). We ordered an esparagus salad and spring roles as starters and the curry as main dish. The salad was very good with a yummy dressing, the spring roles were delicious too. The curry was good but not as good as the starters. It came with some cooked cauliflower on the side which I don't like a lot.

Pros: good food

Cons: limited vegan choice

Great Food

Had a quick lunch here, on the way to the metro before heading home, so we only had soup and a main.

The soup was delicious, carrot & spinach, and the main was brown rice and roasted vegetables. There were no vegan desserts on the day we were there.

Hearty, healthy food. It was getting very busy by 1.00pm when we left, so perhaps aim to get there early at 12.15 . . . to make sure . . .

Pros: Delicious Food, Healthy too, Nice restaurant

Cons: No vegan desserts on the day

Divine food

Excellent food, elegant restaurant with a nice garden. It is and it feels like a very relaxing Tibetan / Buddhist place for worship. But the food is not oriental, just a delicious blend of different cuisines around the world, with an elegant touch. The portions can be small and it can be a little bit expensive (but the food is worth every penny). The 3 course set menu is a good way to have a taste of this food. Make sure you book a table, as Tibetanos is very popular with arty locals, who will often come here for meals before/after film screenings at nearby Cinemateca (showing art house international films with subtitles in Portuguese).

Pros: Delicious food, healthy cuisine, creative dishes

Cons: small portions

Nice

This is a nice restaurant, but have just a few dishes. The desserts are great and if you choose the day menu is cheaper and nice.
Its better to make a reservation because its always full. The schedule isnt nice and they only accept money for payment.

The plastic tables with chairs in the "garden" is quite strange with all the buddhhism decoration on the inside of the small restaurant. The location is nice.

Pros: food, staff

Cons: payment only with money, small restaurant

Os Tibetanos

We visited "Os Tibetanos" during a recent visit to Lisbon and we were quite pleased with the food. Unlike some of the other vegetarian restaurants in Dresden, os Tibetanos offers an "a la carte" service instead of a buffet for a fixed price. Meals were on the order of 12€.

Os Tibetanos

Good food for a decent price. They have a daily special which is really cheap, but also regular dishes that are slightly more expensive. The dishes are all oientally inspired and quite inventive. They serve fresh juices and lassi. The interior of the place was pleasant. They also have a garden, with quite a large number of seats, unfortunately it lacks the atmosphere of the restaurant inside because of the plastic chairs.

Pros: good food, good value, friendly

Cons: outdoor seating lacks atmosphere
