Great spot for fresh, seasonal, local produce - Edit
The Orono Farmers' Market is an institution in this area, and if you are new to the area or visiting, it is a great place for fresh, local produce. The vegetables are all grown by the folks at the market. Some (but not all) of the farmers sell certified organic veggies. Look for MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Growers) certified organic at their stand or check with the grower if you are looking for organic veggies. The availability of fruit and vegetables varies seasonally. The best time to visit for the most diverse selection would be from June or July through mid-November. In addition to selling fruit and vegetables, there is also one vendor who sells Vietnamese food (sometimes vegetarian or vegan options are available), and there is a vendor for coffee and tea.

Cutest farmer’s market! - Edit
The best farmer’s market in the area, hands down. Tons of veggies and other seasonal items (jams, jellies, pickles, maple syrup) as well as breads, honey, and other items for non-vegans (eggs etc). There’s a truck that sells coffee and meal items, and many vendors are organic. Besides veggies and fruits, they sell seedlings and plant starts early in the season. People bring their dogs and kids. Don’t forget your reusable bag😄
