Great vegan options, very good food - Edit
My parents were regulars for years but I had no idea this place had so many vegan options or I would have gone sooner! We went there on a busy lunch weekday in summer and although there was only one person working the whole front of restaurant, the food was definitely worth the long wait for service. Many vegan options clearly labeled and some items that surprised me they offered vegan! I eat a lot of Korean food at home and at restaurants in chicago and this was far better food than most of what I’ve had/made. I’ll definitely be back next visit!

Vegan-Friendly Servers and Delicious Vegan Korean Food! - Edit
You'll find delicious vegan food and knowledgeable vegan-friendly servers at Oriental Spoon. I'm from Springfield and make it a goal to stop at Oriental Spoon any time I'm in Southern IL. I love the Tteok Fries and they surprisingly have a similar consistency to cheese sticks. The Vegetable Mandu is a great savory appetizer. My entree was the tofu bulgogi and it may be my favorite stir fry anywhere. The atmosphere is nice and the waitresses have always been friendly and fast.

Great options and friendly staff - Edit
We have lived in this area for years but never went before, which is a shame. Staff was very friendly and took the time to explain which dishes could be made vegan, which is most of them if you leave out the meat and egg.
Read moreI got ramen with extra vegetables and rice cakes. We also had vegetable dumplings and seaweed rolls, which were both delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Friendly Staff, Great Food - Edit
I had Spicy Tofu Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I also enjoyed a beer from Old Bakery Beer, an Organic Brewery not far away. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great find - Edit
I was in visiting family and was afraid I might not find and vegan options, other than salads and beyond burgers, but was over the moon to find The Oriental Spoon. Vegan options are clearly labeled and staff are very friendly and accommodating and able to answer questions. Prices are reasonable and they serve alcohol, to boot. Limited to giving 4 stars since they serve meat too. Safe to say that I’ll be eating here again on my next trip!
