Food a mixed bag; service lacking - Edit
Restaurant was less than half full on a Saturday evening, so we're confused as to why we waited 15 minutes to be asked about drinks. Had looked at menu and decided by then, so took the opportunity to order while we could.
Read moreThought food came out worryingly quick when we had our starter arrive in less than 5 minutes, but turned out to be someone else's non-vegan food. Good thing we're vigilant because they were not. When removing the plate from our table, only a cursory apology, server seemed put out by the experience.
Our actual starters arrived within 10 minutes of the mishap. Find it strange that the 'vegan style ribs' are called ribs when it's just a deep-fried vegetable, which tasted quite nice, except it wasn't what I thought I was ordering. The mandarin sauce accompanying it was great. Sesame prawn toast was nice, as was the crispy duck with pancakes, although the duck was surrounded by a weird perimeter of mushy veg.
Mains: we ordered chicken chow mein and chicken Singapore rice. The former was the best. The rice dish was a good, balanced level of spicy, although otherwise a little bland. Also ordered chilli pepper chips, which were unevenly flavoured, a little too salty, but quite good overall.
The service was the most questionable element of the experience. Felt forgotten about after being seated; given incorrect food with no apology; no one asked if everything was OK; generally very inattentive.
They provided a takeaway box when asked (as it wasn't buffet), and charged 50p for it. When paying, server left without offering a receipt, and took the breakdown printout so I didn't even have that in the end. This particular staff member (young, looked like she didn't want to be there, possibly first job?) could do with more training.
Overall, left with mixed feelings about the place. Service way worse than the food. Maybe the nightclub version is better. Probably wouldn't eat in again, maybe would collect food. Service puts us off. Certainly wouldn't take family/friends for an occasion.
Note to management/owners: charge more and provide better service.
Pros: Chicken chow mein was good, Duck was good (weird presentation), Reasonably priced
Cons: Shocking service, Weird ribs that aren't ribs, Advice: check your food before you eat it

Hidden vegan gem - Edit
Fantastic for both eating in and takeaway. Huge range of vegan options which covers most of the Chinese classics that I haven’t found elsewhere; for example, crispy chilli beef.

Fab vegan choices, good value - Edit
I was amazed at how many vegan things were on the menu and the vegan box was really good value at £19. My non-vegam hubby enjoyed it all, too. Wish this was nearer my house..

Great vegan selection and generous portions - Edit
We ordered one delivery and one take away from Oriental Aroma when we were in Royal Wootton Bassett this spring.
Read moreThey have an extensive vegan menu, and the food was generous and delicious.
Some reviews say it is on the greasy side: it's true for the vegan sharing platter, mostly because it's a selection of fried food served in very generous quantities, but since a lot more food came in that we expected, we saved some for the next day :)
When we ordered stand alone dishes for a takeaway a second time, they were all delicious, like the sweet and sour sauce and the mock chicken dishes.
There were some small gifts as well like fortune cookies.
I really recommend it for a treat in Bassett and the staff is nice.
Pros: Good value, taste, Plenty of vegan options, Speed and friendliness
Cons: Not a fully vegan venue

phenomenal food - Edit
a full vegan menu, with vegan versions of all the most popular dishes, but they also feature seitan, jack fruit and all sorts of other scummy vegan dishes that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Been here a few times for the AYCE, plus a couple for take away - the take away was wonderful as they were happy to make off menu dishes to appease picky omnis who adored and devoured their food - complimenting it on how great it was!

Great vegan menu - Edit
I had a really tasty meal here with my sisters, if you get there early enough (maybe if you can get in early enough for a 7.45 finish? Check this!) you can have an all you can eat vegan meal for £15, which comes in courses to the table - way more than we could eat! It includes a vegan version of hoisin duck pancakes, absolutely delicious. Really enjoyed the food, which made up for a slightly gloomy venue.

Cons: Not always the friendliest service, Venue’s a bit gloomy - doubles as a night club , Don’t let you take a doggy bag home!

Brilliant for vegans! - Edit
A very extensive vegan menu, with imaginative, chef developed dishes... New dishes added regularly.... We love this restaurant and go regularly. Once a month there is an entirely vegan menu and the local vegan group goes. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
