Has Some Essentials - Edit
Sun Warrior vegan protein powders of various types, locally made vegan raw cookies, organic as well as conventional produce, kombucha, and beyond burgers are a few veg items here. Would love to also see cheese, ice cream, yogurt, more meats, seitan, jerky etc.. Things are quite pricy.

Fresh vegan pastries and more - Edit
I read the reviews on HappyCow before going so I was expecting to be disappointed. I actually didn’t go to find organic products but to see what was vegan products they offered. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see a lot of vegan options (at reasonable prices) and even fresh vegan empanadas and cakes. It is a small store but I think they’re doing their best to cater to the vegan community.

Really nice - Edit
Cute little market, offering lots of produce, really helpful, lots of vegan options and make some baked goods and has a little counter at the back where you can order bowls (vegan also) to go and as fresh fruits/legumes (organic) and even as a bulk place! Nice!

sad produce - Edit
Organico is in a prime location, but they have limited offerings when it comes to food stuff. It's a small Mercado. The produce is really bad. The man who works at the counter always is cranky and never says hello, like you're inconveniencing him for coming into his store. They have soup premade at the front of the store and some locally made raw food treats. A lot of their stock isn't ready made and requires a food prep area to use.

Un-organic-oh. - Edit
I was so happy to see an organic shop in Nosara, and equally impressed that the prices weren't high. (It can be hard to find organic food in costa rica, but i had heard that Nosara was special because of its quite alternative community and that organic food was delivered weekly)
Read moreBut after touring the whole shop and talking to the guy behind the counter, I came to realise that very little is organic here. Organic, I mean, in the sense of no pesticides, artificial fertilizers or GMO seeds.
All the price labels have things like 'Organico tomatoes' which are misleading.
This is a grocery shop with health food...I'm still confused as to why it's called 'organico'! Maybe by the time I come back they will have changed and become more in line with the principles that the name suggests? I hope so!
Pros: open when the market isn't happening
Cons: misleading labels, little organic food
