Amazing Food & Service! A Must in NYC! - Edit
Visiting Orchard Grocer is a must each time I visit NYC. I love knowing all of the offerings from the deli and in the shop are vegan. My favorite sandwich to eat is The Marlowe. It is hands down the BEST vegan Reuben I have ever had. The flavors are spot on. I also love their breakfast sandwich on a vegan croissant. What a delicious way to start the day! The soft serve ice cream is creamy and yummy and always a special treat.

The sandwich was ok. The service was bad. I support vegan restaurants and shops as much as I can, but I don’t support shops that don’t treat their customers fairly. Just now I realized that I wasn’t treated fairly when I ordered the other day. I ordered first before the other customer but they receive order first. And the staff was kind and friendly to all the white customers, but they weren’t as kind to me, a non-white. I’ve never felt this way before in any country or restaurant that I’ve visited in my life. The only place and restaurant I’ve felt this strange feeling was there. And now I just realized what this strange feeling is. If I could give this shop a 1 star, I would.

Lots of bagel shops have vegan cream cheese in NYC but there aren’t that many vegan bagel sandwich options so I wanted to give this place a try. They have a vegan carrot lox bagel sandwich called the Edith. Unfortunately they only have plain or everything (I prefer sesame) but opted for the everything. I was surprised by how sweet the carrot lox were. If I wasn’t so hungry I don’t think I would have finished this. I was pretty disappointed; I expected savory not sweet. My partner tried the Bowery sandwich and had a much better experience. He really liked it—I thought it was just OK. YMMV

What a great selection of vegan groceries and made to order food. We were recommended this place and so glad we checked it out. We ordered the no egg, bacon, cheese and spring onions croissant and it was amazing. We also had mac and cheese. We don't have the 'no egg' in England and ot was fantastic. Great variety of vegan groceries here - if I had access to cooking facilities in NY I could have bought a lot of stuff. We got a vegan cheddar spread, two kinds of cheesy flavoured chips, a fig-based salami, babybel cheeses, and soft serve ice cream to eat there - vanilla and Mexican hot chocolate twist for me - amazing.

The food is amazing, so many options. The bagel was not on the menu but when we asked if they did them we were told that anything on the menu could be made on a bagel. We tried a plain bagel with cream cheese and the Bowery roll and both were amazing and good prices too!

Seriously, we split a Francis sandwich which was like a warm embrace on a rainy cloudy day, bought some snacks to take home and had the best creamy soft serve ever - SERIOUSLY - this soft serve is the real deal and was so good we went back for more😉

I was so impressed with the wide array of products (they carried brands and products I’d never seen before). I also love that everything is palm oil free, but everything was soooo expensive.

We had sandwiches, salad and soft serve, and everything was super tasty, easily the best vegan fast food I’ve had on Manhattan! The service is fast and friendly, and the grocery store has tons of yummy pre-packaged things like vegan cheese, snacks and candy. Highly recommended, support a fully vegan business instead of the big “health food” stores full of animal products!
