Almost like the real thing - Edit
Quite enjoyed my dinner. Loved to be able to have my traditional veg stir fry and the ginger/sesame beef was really good.
Read moreDid have the sushi and tempura too and they were just okay though. Granted, i didn't try everything.
Nice that the have an 'a la carte' and if you are really hungry, the all you can eat looks like a great option.
If you are doing an a la carte, rice doesn't appear as an extra on the menu but just ask for it

Excellent AYCE sushi - Edit
Came here for all you can eat dinner, it did not disappoint! 10 hungry vegans, all left extremely full and satisfied. The sushi was good but don’t skip the mock meats!! The general tso chick’n and pineapple chicken are amazing. Also make sure to get the udon noodles!
Read moreCheers to our waitress who checked to see if we wanted to send the rest of our pending order into the kitchen near the end. It’s $15 per box for leftovers otherwise!

Incredible food - Edit
Incredible! We originally went for the all you can eat option. We arrived at 8pm but was told we would only be able to order once even though they closed at 9:30pm.
Read moreSo we decided to go with the a la carts menu. The food was very tasty. Sushi was incredible, pretty, neat but flavourful. The beef with broccoli was surprisingly nice, so was the sweet and sour chicken.
Took a pregnant non vegan friend here so she could eat sushi and she really enjoyed it.
I would definitely recommend.

A lot of choices - Edit
First time I experienced this restaurant and I was very impressed. Everything is vegan, there is a lot of choices and all the plates were really tasty. It was pretty crowded when I visited oplante, we placed 2 different orders and everything came within 15 minutes on a cute cat robot. You can even buy the fake meat and fish to cook at home if you want. I definitely will go again, I got a lot of food left to try out.

Their sushi is really good quality, but my absolute favourite dish here is the crispy sesame « beef ». It sweet and savoury, crispy and saucy, I could eat it everyday.

Would definitely go again! - Edit
After reading mixed reviews on Google, I wasn't sure if this restaurant was going to be good or not, but I'm really glad I tried it! Overall the food was really good, and I really enjoyed the all you can eat feature. Me and my friend ate so much and got to try so many different dishes! A few sushi rolls were just ok, but many were incredible and the sesame beef was to die for! The only thing that lacked was the service. They have this fun robot but the waitress needed to come get the food to serve and she was always busy on her phone so we waited a lot at time and got our food ourselves at some point. The decor is also just ok, not high end but it does the job. Would go again for sure though!
Read morePros: All you can eat option, Sesame beef was incredible , Tons of tasty choices

Great sushi - Edit
The vibe is good, the staff are friendly, and the sushi was a feast for both the eyes and the mouth. The biggest downside though is how long it took for the food to come out. We were waiting for at least half an hour.

Disappointing - Edit
We had reservations for 7pm and decided to try the all you can eat option because we wanted to try a bit of everything. We first ordered a sushi roll and peanut butter dumplings. It took 40 minutes for 2 pieces of sushi to arrive and 4 cold dumplings. We asked for soya sauce and were told there was none left by one server. The other server filled 2 small bowls with soya sauce from another tables soya sauce. We understand the portions are smaller so we then ordered 5 items, a mix of sushi and warm dishes like general Tao and beef broccoli. We waited 20 or so minutes and then decided to order more because it was getting close to 830pm which was supposed to be last call. After an hour since 2nd order placed server came to ask how long we had been wanting. We told her an hour, nobody checked on use for 1 hour. Another 10 minutes go by and we receive a combination from our 2nd and 3rd order. Sushi, no warm dishes like general taos or beef broccoli. The sushi pizza was cold and the shrimp and bacon sushi were so cold, like fridge temperature.
Around 910pm all the rest of our 2nd and 3rd orders come out. By this time we've lost our appetite. Most of the dishes are cold and we tell the server and ask for to go boxes. She responds with "well if they are cold why do you want them to go?" - because we have a microwave at home.
They bring boxes and one server apologizes and says it's because there were so many take out orders and she said she suggested they turn off order apps to focus on the dining room. Obviously they didn't take her advice.
Me partner and I were extremely disappointed. We rarely go out to eat, we've ordered from you at least 5x and have loved the food so we thought for Valentines day we'd treat ourselves.
I'm a manager of a restaurant in Montreal and if this happened (which it never would) I wouldn't have discounted the meal and apologized profusely.
Needles to say we won't be back and will not recommend Oplante to our vegan friends.
Pros: All vegan
Cons: Service, Cold food , Wait time

Nice sushi, didn’t try hot dishes - Edit
Disclaimer: I get the impression that this place is best known for their wide range of mock meats, but I was sharing with someone who doesn’t eat much mock meat so we stuck to veggie sushi. I’ll update if/when I try a wider range.
Read moreThe sushi here was good but I prefer Ohana or Momo for veggie sushi. Since I wasn’t trying the mock meats I’m not sure I got the fullest picture but one thing I noticed was that the rice was really dense in the sushi, which would presumably be the case in the mock fish dishes too. The « sashimi-style » sushi was really lovely, especially the eggplant.

An experience - Edit
I absolutely loved our meal! My husband and I drove up from Ottawa as a last minute decision for all you can eat night (Tuesday through Thursday). When we arrived the host wasn't sure if there was room so I would suggest to book in advance! The flavours were well balanced and textures were on point. Wish the fish alternatives tasted a little more fishy though. I would 100% drive up again just for the meal.

Best vegan buffet! - Edit
Friendly staff, lots of choices and, even though it's a buffet, you get à la carte quality dishes. It's the perfect place to bring non-vegan friends or family, as I couldn't imagine anyone not loving the food served there. Their plant-based salmon is shockingly similar to real salmon in taste and texture. Gave four stars only because they don't have an alcohol license and it isn't a BYOB.
