Limited options but v tasty

I had the pickled plum which - I think - was the only vegan option. It was my first onigiri and I really liked it. Also liked the general vibe of the cafe and the fact it had locals rather than just tourists (it’s a very touristy part of town!) My carnivore husband loved the fish option

Pros: Ambience, Flavour

Cons: Limited options

Good and tasty

They have few vegan options, the classics like ume and plain as well as more particular ones like the kelp wrapped or the japanese pickles One.
The service was fast and simple.
The onigiri were good, you can really taste the quality of the ume and of the rice.

Not all options available

When we came in the morning, not all options were available and it was a bit difficult to find the vegan options. There is a counter with all onigiri, but they are only labelled in japanese. There is also a printed english menu with vegan options labelled, but If you don't read japanese, you can't see which ones from the menu are available at the counter. The saleswomen was really friendly, we told her which number from the english menu we would like to order and she looked through the counter if that number was available. This was still a bit complicated and we felt bad because there was a long line behind us. After searching some vegan options, we found one available, which was also the only vegan available option. So we just ordered one. It was really delicious, but I had hoped for more vegan options and wouldn't come back for one onigiri. Maybe we came at a bad time.

Onigiri was tasty but the dine in experience was confusing

We decided to dine in because it was raining outside but ended up wishing we had just gotten take away. There is a clearly labelled menu in English, but for some reason when dining in I wasn’t able to order from the list, and had to order from a very small list of onigiri which was in the set options which was not labelled and mostly fish options. Because it was in the set I also thought they were asking me to order a set which did not have vegan options but I was able to select just the onigiri. They were tasty when they arrived at least.

Grate shop for a quick snack

Easy to identify and order vegan Onigiri for a quick snack. English is limited but the card makes is easy to be sure about the ingredients of the order.

Pros: Tasty , Many different vegan options , Opportunity to try Japanese fast food
