Delicious grilled pineapple sandwich ! - Edit
A great find in Galveston. Several vegan sandwiches to pick from and they are actually interesting ( not just a beyond beef burger).
Read moreI had the grilled pineapple sandwich which had arugula, avocado and an amazing spicy bbq sauce).

Not my favorite - Edit
There is not a ton of vegan options in Galveston so I did appreciate that. However, I ordered a vegan island dog and essentially just got a smashed beyond patty. Not impressed.

Worth a visit - Edit
They have a great menu that is very vegetarian and vegan friendly. I do have to say that the food is a bit spicy. I had the pineapple steak sandwich and it definitely bit back. I still ate every last bite. Make sure to take time and visit.

Get the pineapple burger! - Edit
Good vegan burger, sandwich, sausage option. Tasty! Cute atmosphere. Had vegan blondies when we went but were out of vegan pie, although it’s usually a menu staple.

Had the vegan dog which was very tasty. Unfortunately the staff member at the counter was pretty rude and disinterested. Not a big deal but makes you feel like not coming back

Adorable themed deli! - Edit
This place was so cute! They had portraits of cats all over their dining area upstairs (see photos for one of them) and the food was really good! There were I think 5 or 6 vegan options or you can build your own sandwich. I ordered the Old Moon Burger and my bf got the Vegan Island Dog. They have vegan pies too, but apparently they sell quickly because when we arrived around 2pm they had already sold out for the day. It was so nice to have multiple vegan options tho in a town that pretty much only serves Beyond Burgers at their restaurants.

Unsuspecting gem - Edit
Old Moon offers a unique experience in the heart of downtown Galveston. From the outside, it just looks like a small restaurant in a historic building but on the inside there is plenty of seating and vegan options! The cashier suggested the Old Moon Burger (vegan as it comes) and a slice of chocolate pie. The vegan pie was an unexpected find here in Galveston but we’re so glad we came across it! Afterwards, we found plenty to do in downtown within walking distance

Good options in a no-so-vegan-friendly area - Edit
I followed the advice of some on here and got the old moon burger and blueberry pie. I was not disappointed. Another review said they used mayo, so I asked, and they assured me they use vegan mayo and cheese.
Read moreI'm not sure why vegan is always associated with gluten-free. I would have preferred a more traditional pie crust. This was more like a cobbler, but it was delicious.

Wonderful Black Bean Burger! - Edit
I decided to try this quaint little deli while visiting Galveston for the day! By far the best black bean burger I’ve had! All of the veggies were super fresh and the patty had such a great flavor. There were four vegan sandwiches to choose from. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Many Vegan Options - Edit
I was worried that my son wouldn't have many choices; however, we were pleasantly surprised. Many vegan sandwiches to choose from. We both enjoyed ours (mine was vegan, too). The bread was amazing!

Stellar Vegan Food - Edit
The Pineapple Time pineapple steak sandwich is amazing, and so is the Old Moon Burger (both vegan). The availability of vegan pies varies, but the Key Lime pie and Chocolate pie (my favorite) are very good. Wish they were open later than 3pm!

The Beyond Meat sandwich/burger was so good! I was hoping to try the Beyond hot dog when I went but they were all sold out, next time though!! It’s been over a year since my visit but the staff was very helpful with their menu and knowledgeable about the vegan dishes.

Great vegan sandwich options - Edit
There were a number of vegan burgers to choose from, which is awesome (I got the curried hempseed and sweet potato), and several fresh veggie toppings as well. They have kombucha as well that is made locally that was also great. Unfortunately they did not have any vegan deserts when I came in. I’ve seen other reviewers mention the same, so I’d call ahead before coming in to check availability if you really have your heart set on dessert!

Had an awesome sandwich - Edit
When I came in it was the owner, Katherine, that served me. She was super friendly, told me that she's vegetarian herself, and advised me on what she likes on the menu. She totally knows what's vegan and what's not, which is refreshing. The atmosphere was great, the food was made fresh in front of me and was awesome. Agave nectar and other vegan conveniences were all there.

Good vegan option - Edit
Need a vegan dinning option at last minute and happened to be a few feet away from this place. Place has vegan patty options like hemp and black bean. Was actually out of beyond burgers and their vegan pies which was a let down. But anyway, get to custom make your sandwich which was very cool since I’m a very picky vegan. Hemp burger was surprisingly good, as I don’t like most mixed veggie type burgers being so picky. This one was subtle tasting and good with no odd crunching ingredients. Pickles were delicious and the toasted grain bread was awesome. Place was pricy when adding in chips and drink, bout 50 bucks for family of 5, which included 6$ tip. Would certainly go again! 👍🏻
Read morePros: surprisingly good vegan burgers (hemp, black bean), nice vegan options, helpful staff
Cons: pricy, wasn’t stocked with all vegan eats, kinda tight seating if busy
