Plantspiration 🌱💚

I would come back anytime!
The spot is beautifully decorated, the menu offers creative dishes and the service is excellent. I started with the 'Molotes de plátano' and had the roasted broccoli as a main. Both dishes were perfectly concocted. The 'Capirotada' for dessert was my least favourite course and I left most of it. There was nothing wrong with it, I just made the wrong choice for my palate. #Veganuary

Disappointed based on the hype

3.5 ⭐ We had high hopes for this place, but it wasn't much to speak of. The food was good, but nothing special. The pastor tacos were good, but the enchiladas and torta were both pretty meh, and the cocktails were weak. Many of the menu items, both food and drink, were not available. The service was kind, but the restaurant was basically empty which was a weird vibe. Maybe there were better things to order, but we probably won't make the time to go back on this trip.

Fell short on my visit

We ordered the carrot and coconut flautas, pambazo (potato sandwiches), and wheat crackling in 2 salsas. The food was okay, but it just lacked a little something. The flautas were underwhelming in flavor and the pambazo was like eating a cold potato sandwich that been sitting out for awhile. There wasn't much alcohol in the cocktails either.

I was disappointed to see a carton of cow's milk on the counter. It didn't seem to be used for any of the customers and I won't assume it was, but why was it even in a vegan restaurant?

Nice ambience and creative plant forward food

The food is really focus on plant flavours. My fave was the guacamole with plantains. The rice pudding dessert was also great and large. Generous portions over all. I will be back to try more.

Lovely food, cosy and great staff

I really liked the food here. I went for a simple fried broccoli, but it was so much more than simple. To drink I had a moka and horchata with coconut milk. The horchata was extremely tasty. For dessert I went for some coconut ice cream which did not disappoint. Very attentive staff and a fancy restroom as well. They also sell some vegan products like corn snack, ice cream and coffee.

Pros: Big and tasty portions , Friendly and attentive staff

Not the best

The food was okay, but the restaurant was completely empty and no other guests came the whole time we were there. Big downgrade: Both toilets were wish [censored] and it was not possible to flush it

Favorite vegan restaurant in CDMX

CDMX has a lot of great all vegan restaurants but this one stood out to us. Everything we had hit the spot. Felt really good afterwards, nothing too heavy but absolutely delicious. One of the two restaurants we made an effort to return to during our visit (the other one was Los Loosers).
The restaurant has a nice laid back/ slightly upscale vibe.

Pros: Bean soup , Really everything we tried was top notch, Location (Condesa)

Amazing food, very unique

Food was incredible and very different from the usual tacos & enchiladas. We had the pumpkin blossom appetizer, bean soup, and chicharron. Venue felt a little more upscale and service was great.

Absolutely amazing

Super chill, open air room opening on to these tree lined boulevards in Mexico City that make you feel like you’re in a city jungle.

Super tasty watermelon horchata to start. Great appetizers. But it was the vegan mole enchiladas that blew our socks off. SO good. Just not how us gringos think about and cool with chocolate. Yum.

So nice to be vegan and have so many choices on a menu. Love that. All vegan.

Highly recommended.

Pros: Mole enchiladas, Watermelon horchata , Lovely room, nice staff

Not quite as good as the hype

We tried the esquites (like elote but off the cob), the bean tetelas, and the sweet potato pambazo. The esquites were our favorite thing. People who are not used to different kinds of corn might be put off by the firmer texture of the kernels, but if you know you know. The crema on top was really delicious. The tetelas and pambazo were both good but nothing mind blowing. The flavors of the pambazo were good, but it was all soft. It needed some crunch or texture. The menu said they offer vegan cooking classes, but when I asked the waiter he said they aren’t currently offering them, which was a bummer.

Pros: All vegan , Large portions

The best vegan food I had on my trip

There are so many wonderful vegan restaurants in the area. It really is a joy to be a food tourist. But Ojo de Maíz is the only one I had to return to. The gentle earthy flavors are were new to me, flavorful, but not trying too hard. Reasonable prices, great location. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful Mexican Vegan Place

We stayed in the area and wished we had
Visited this place sooner. As we would have certainly considered coming back. Great Manu selection with Veganised traditional mex dishes. Great options and inexpensive

Pros: Lots of options, Inexpensive, Veganised Mex cuisine

Cons: Early evening closure as compared to others

Nice find

I was surprised by the twist on traditional dishes, although I found the flavor somewhat weak. I had Panuchos de Cochinita de Repollo (pibil cabbage) and I missed the strength of the achiote. I would like to go back and try other dishes

Pros: Cozy restaurant , good cocktails

Cons: Overpriced , small portions

Very dissapointed

We went here after a long day of walking around the city and were so looking forward to it as it has pretty good ratings on here. We went in around 8 and there was nobody else in there which should have been our first warning, My friend and I then ordered some cocktails which I would say were one of the better things they have there even though I didn't even get a buzz and that's coming from a light weight. We got the Esquites to start which were very firm and soupy. I was expecting it to be more charred and creamy. I had order the mole but the waiter gave me the Broccoli dish instead which I don't know how that happened as my Spanish isn't that bad and I even pointed to the Mole on the menu. I was starving though so I just ate it because I didn't want to send it back. I was shocked though that they just had steamed broccoli and some sauce as a main dish, I ate it all and was still starving because there was barely any protein/substance to it. My friend was also not very impressed by their meal either. We then shared the Rice Pudding creme brûlée which was pretty decent although the rice seemed to be a bit on the undercooked side even though it was in a pudding, it was served beautifully though and I did enjoy the fresh berries. Overall I will not be returning because the price compared to the rest of cdmx restaurants, especially when this was subpar food was insane.

Pros: Beautiful Interior, Clean Bathrooms

Cons: Food wasn't filling or good, Prices are high for cdmx

Delicious, great location and service

One of the best places I have been in Mexico City, awesome food and service, not too expensive, nice location and super family friendly- they have a high chair for toddlers and each toilet cabin has their own changing table.

Delicious vegan food

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff & fresh food.
They work together with the restaurant "Ojo de agua", which is next door, & also bring non-vegan food over from there.
"Portobello Milanese Torta" was very tasty, fresh & creamy & the white wine was also very good.

Pros: Nice location , Friendly staff

Great place for a nice, quiet dinner

After a full day of sightseeing in the bustling city, I wanted to enjoy a quiet upscale dinner and this place delivered. They don’t have cocktails, but do have a good beer selection. As gringos, we had to order guac, which was very different (in the best way) with tofu and pomegranate. We also had a corn soup appetizer that was phenomenal. The al pastor tacos and pombazos were both really good. Highly recommend!

Not really Vegan

The menu is not really vegan. Be careful with salsas that might have chicken broth in it.
