Huge vegan sushi menu - Edit
The vegan rolls we had were fabulous. So good we didn’t take any pictures! We had the sunrise, summer, spicy green dragon and avocado bomb from the chefs special rolls menu. We tried the seared avocado nigiri which was also delicious. There is a full regular sushi menu too so great spot for a mixed group. We’ll be back.

Deserves all 5 - Edit
Not just the typical cucumber and avocado rolls. Tofu crab, asparagus, etc. The combos are great. The spring rolls were good but didn’t really have much filling. Fried teriyaki tofu had good flavor and an adequate amount of rice served with it. Lovely presentation even as take away!

The okra nigiri is one of the best things I’ve tasted in my life. They have a full vegan menu. Love this restaurant! I’d absolutely give it 5 stars if possible. Really amazing sushi.

Friendly atmosphere and a full vegan menu - Edit
They have a separate vegan to choose from. Very happy with our choices - 4 chef’s nigiri, the ogenki maki roll and agedashi tofu. I would give it 5 stars if not for the restrictions imposed by the app

Spoiled for choice - Edit
I'm truly not used to full vegan menus, particularly in places like this. I might have overdone it, but it was very good and satisfying for lunch.

Full vegan menu - Edit
This place gets a big high five for meeting the needs of the vegans; their dedicated vegan menu is expansive, and did not dissapoint.
Read moreThe rolls we ordered from the"chef special" part of the menu were sooooo yummy, they did not skimp on the cream cheese or smoked salmon. To be honest, the standard Mango and avocado roll (one that is available at most sushi restaurants in our area) was good, but not the best ever, which was the litmus test for the caliber of these rolls. So I think the fact that you can get rolls here with all the vegan ingredients that are so hard to come by elsewhere is what makes this place special. Don't get me wrong, it was all very very good, and if I lived nearby I would be ordering all the time!
This was my first time trying both vegan salmon and crab nigiri, and I found the flavor to be bland, but the appearance and texture was amazing! It was a fun experience just to eat a piece of nigiri that looked like real salmon and crab meat. The tuna nigiri was REALLY GOOD though!
Pros: Full vegan menu ✌✌, Lots of cream cheese in the rolls featuring it, Yummy mayo sauces on some of the rolls

5 stars it’s amazing full vegan menu - Edit
It’s the best sushi I have ever had! I don’t know, why the ratings aren’t that good, but the sushi was amazing. They have a full vegan menu, they refill the tea and it’s quite cheap as well. The one waitress is really kind and is super fast. I had the yam avocado roll, the shiitake and the bean curd. It was outstanding

I am in love with this place. Only thing - they could have a lunch menu.
Their sushi box menu isn’t really saving you any money
Unfortunately happy cow only allows 4 stars
Amazing food - will I return? Of course
Pros: Full vegan menu , Yam and avocado roll, Free tea refill
Cons: No lunch menu

Incredible Vegan Sushi!! - Edit
While I understand that this business is attached to a non-vegan sushi restaurant, I feel it deserves a vegan restaurant rating all its own. The vegan menu was vast and offered many diverse and delicious options for each course, and the restaurant prepared it on equipment completely isolated from the rest of the non-vegan sushi menu items. Absolutely loved the “tuna” nigiri and smoked “salmon” layered sushi. So good we came back a second time the same weekend. Looking forward to the next visit 😄

Soulless sushi - Edit
Ordered veggie gyoza, ogenki rolls and miso.
Read moreAll were disappointing.
Gyoza has very little filling, can barely taste what’s inside, the accompanied sauce is very salty.
Miso? I can cook 2.78 times better and I do not consider myself good at making miso soup. I felt they put in minimal effort.
Rice should be the soul of sushi(even though sometimes soul wraps around the body). The Ogenki rolls is soulless, absolutely soulless, they must have used non sushi rice in instant pot with XXXL amount of water. And, they definitely did not mix the cooked rice with sugar and vinegar(even Jamie Oliver knows, though he forgot to put sugar in the recipe ingredients list).
What’s more awful is that I ate them all.
Cons: Soulless sushi

Vegan Menu in a Sushi Restaurant - Edit
So happy to have found Ogenki. They added a huge vegan menu to their standard sushi restaurant in December 2021. The Ⓥ menu features Starters, Tempuras, Nigiris, Makis, Oshizushi, Noodles, Bento Boxes and more. The kitchen serves fish but has separate refrigerator, knives and cutting surfaces for vegan prep. The flavor is great and is exactly a vegan version of their standard sushi!
Read moreThe ambiance is … okay no attention to ambience here. Very functional dining room. Right on Main in the heart of the vegan scene. I remember a pizza hole-in-the-wall in Los Angeles that added a vegan pizza to their standard menu a long time ago. The v pizza was so popular, the entire restaurant went v. That place is now the famous Crusiers Pizza in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, CA. I could see the same for Ogenki - wink wink.

Delicious creative 100% vegan sushi - Edit
What an amazing surprise finding a 100% vegan sushi restaurant, offering a large choice of plant based sushi rolls and other tasty Japanese dishes. We ordered some rolls, and they were all great, colorful, fresh, wholesome: vegan crab meat sushi, California rolls (finally vegan!), summer rolls. The tofu teriyaki box was delightful: deep fried tofu bites, spring rolls, cucumber rolls, salad, tempura. Thumbs up for these guys.
