Breakfast - Edit
Everyone comes here for breakfast. The line is huge in the morning, so just be prepared. Food was great and staff are very friendly. They should definitely add more chicken with their waffles as the proportion was way off. Still highly recommend.

I wanted to love it. - Edit
I had the Chk’n & Waffle. The waffle was good but the chk’n not so much. I’m from the south where fried chicken is a staple....this was more like breaded chicken patties

Very tasty brunch- I had the French dip and my boyfriend had the breakfast full mess. We also had the soup of the day which was amazing! I think it was Brussel sprout soup. Highly recommended!

go early or be prepared to wait! - Edit
whenever i go on the early side i have a great time - delicious food, friendly staff and a nice environment. however if you head to breakfast after 11, be prepared to wait like 30+ minutes for a table. it's one of my favorites in town for breakfast though, so don't pass it up!

Neat Location, Small Meals - Edit
We heard this was a must go to on our trip to Portland. The wait was about 25 minutes for 2 to be seated. The food was pretty good, but we both left hungry. That isn’t cool when we spent $30 for breakfast! My plate came with “greens” which was literally 4 leafs of spinach. The waffles were really good, though!

Superb for vegan breakfast - Edit
Really enjoyed what we had here! I had the Blue Plate, and being able to enjoy vegan biscuits with gravy is a real treat. I love that basically everything here can be prepared vegan. They do have eggs and cheese to real in a vegetarian crowd. The menu is very meticulously labeled, so there's no guessing. Only tried breakfast here so far, but I'll be back for sure.

Great brunch! - Edit
It’s hard to get a good vegan breakfast when eating out but I really wanted to go out for breakfast on my birthday. This place was fantastic. This explains why there were a lot of people waiting to get seated. But, the wait wasn’t as long as we thought it would be and they had a great system where you could look online to see what place you were in line and they texted when the table was ready.

The food at off the griddle is AMAZING! It was very busy and we had to wait half an hour but it was totally worth it! We came in for vegan French toast but we enjoyed the waffles, hash browns and the tofu scramble. They should add French toast though...

Simply alright. - Edit
Off the Griddle serves decent plant based food. I do enjoy the waffles, but the tofu scramble often seems....runny and wet. Personally, that's not what I look for in my tofu scrambles. If you choose to dine here, try to go during non-peak hours because they do not have a waiting space and have you wait outside. If it's raining out, there is nowhere to stand to stay dry. I avoid Off the Griddle during the cold season unless I am going on a weekday well before the lunch rush. I also find that the staff are generally rude and pretentious. These have been my experiences at Off the Griddle, but at least the food is adequate overall.

Worth the second trip - Edit
Came here for breakfast twice in a row. Exciting vegan breakfast can be hard to find in many places, but Off the Griddle didn't disappoint. Both mornings we were thrilled about our meals, and the sweet staff remembered us and what we were drinking. I recommend the Full Mess, and the Lost Boyrito was fantastic as well

Off The Griddle is Off The Chain - Edit
We almost didn't make it to Off The Griddle before leaving Portland, but I'm SO GLAD we made the effort to stop for brunch before leaving town. Highly recommend the savory waffle option they have, and their coffee is also great. Cute bathroom decor, too. The staff was busy but very attentive at the right times. I've gotta go back whenever I can!

Yummy yum yums - Edit
This is a food haven for vegans, but eaters of all types will rejoice in the tasty food this place offers.
Read moreI have been going here for over two years now. In the before time when this place was on Burnside and called A.N.D Café. It is always so good. The food, the coffee, the tea, the pies, and the service is always great. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all been yummy yum yums. I find myself eating the super vegano burrito and the mushroom waffle more the anything. I usually like to explore new restaurants when I go out to eat, but I always find myself going back to this place.

The menu has many options for the Brunch lover in me. The food was good not exactly mindblowing. I have mad love for Portland being a place where I actually have choices however my only complaint is the high levels of sodium the food contains.

Pleasantly Surprised - Edit
I am not a huge fan of bars or the vegan comfort food that they serve, but this place is an exception. It wasn't noisy at non-bar times. The food is good, and there are many gluten-free options. However, there are no gluten-free desserts aside from shakes. The only complaint that I have is that I ordered a salad that that was supposed to contain squash, Brussel sprouts, and apples. There were about 5 tiny pieces of squash and no Brussel sprouts. The apples were tasty.
