Delicious and filling

Very nice eatery in the old city with modest prices and filling portions. Many plates are vegetarian, some are vegan or can be made vegan. Chilled atmosphere and nice staff - also sells some handmade objects. Totally recommended!

Pros: Vegan options or plates that can be made vegan, Sweet staff, Nice atmosphere

Green Café with tasty crepes

Oasis Nelva is a charming creperie filled with green plants, pretty pots and other pretty things that you can purchase. The special crepe recipe is vegan and you can choose between a filling with meat, fish or a vegan filling with vegetables, like pumpkin red cabbage, eggplant, pepperbell and greens. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay in Havanna. The stuff was very friendly and up for a nice chat. The atmosphere is very relaxed. We would come again during our next trip to Cuba.

Is it move to a new place?

I find one Oasis cafe(with meat and veg. options) on the same street as El Shamuskia'o. Not sure if that is the same cafe as this one, but they do serve one vegetarian crepe. Good taste with fresh look. 3 CUC each. Good choice after taken too many tomatoes and cucumbers salad.

Chilled, inexpensive creperie

One of the few places in Havana where you won't find the ubiquitous Cuban chicken and pork, the crepes and breads include butter and dairy ingredients but taking in consideration how hard is to find a fully vegetarian -not to mention vegan- place in Cuba, this place is an island in Havana Vieja. The menu have lots of fruit juices (fairly close to what outsiders would call a 'smoothie'), the bread is freshly made, the oil is real olive oil which came as a surprise.
This is not a restaurant, so portions are not big, but with so cheap prices, if you're really hungry just double your order or pick up 2 different things and you'll be fine. The outside looks like everything in Cuba, run down and falling apart but the interior is cosy and with a view to the downstairs handcraft shop.

I looked long and hard but it seems this place is no longer open. Not far away is cAfe Bohemia.
