Vegan Masterchef on a plate

Wow! Go big or go home! We had the 7 course tasting menu, and we did not regret it: stunning high end cuisine where the vegetables really are the star of the show. We went for a special occasion, and loved it. Each course is an entertaining theatre of flavours and textures. yum

Pros: Excellent service, Delicious food , A vegan fine dining experience

Cons: Be prepared for the price tag

Fancy Vegan Restaurant

This is a very nice restaurant tucked into the heart of Bath city center. It was very pricy but the food was really amazing. The flavors were so complimentary. No need to dress up.

Pros: Beautiful display, Nice and knowledgeable staff, All vegan

Cons: Expensive

Proper vegan restaurant for a special dinner

Acorn is sophisticated, creative and definitely tasteful. Dinner offers as a 3-course meal. The atmosphere is relaxing and can be quite romantic. Service is good. Booking is required.

Pros: Creative menu , Lovely atmosphere

Cons: Fairly expensive

Always disappointed when I come here...

I live in Bath and thought I'd give Acorn another go.

It's expensive and I find they mainly seem to rely on oily/salty flavours and there are usually a lot of nuts.

Yes it's beautifully presented, and you can feel fancy as a vegan for once. But they seem to hate using tofu, seitan or anything but nuts and veg.

Most disappointingly they didn't even have non-dairy milk for a cappuccino!

If you're in Bath go to Nourish or The Green Rocket - portion sizes are better and your wallet won't hate you for it.

Pros: Food is well presented , Can have nice flavour combos

Cons: Expensive , Menu limited in variety , No non-dairy milk...

Disappointing

Fancy dish names & menu descriptions and prices to match, however we both left feeling hungry despite spending over £50. The staff had a somewhat superior attitude and I feel this restaurant did not live up to the reviews.

Vegan Fine Dining

We knew it was going to be an expensive meal. With small portions. This place is in the Michelin guide and that seems to be the way with fine dining.
There are not many vegan fine dining establishments so we really wanted to try the food.

I can say Acorn absolutely delivers in terms of flavours and presentation. And yes, I would have liked about 20% more of the actual food.

We had 2 x starters, 2 x mains, 2 x desserts, 1 x wine and 2 x coffees which came to just over ₤100.

I noticed they automatically add a 10% Service Charge to our bill for two of us and then still leave space for you to fill in a Gratuity as well.

Pros: Great for a special treat, Vegan fine dining, Tasty good looking food

Excellent Vegan Restaurant in Bath

We took a brief tour to Stonehenge and Bath. Our lunch break was in Bath and we were delighted to encounter Acorn. The food was delicious and inventive, the setting was quiet and delightful. We had a beet root base risotto and a bean and pea with mushrooms over pappardelle. The flavors were amazing. We then had a pressed strawberry with cashew sorbet dessert that was impressive. We would return there again and again given the opportunity. We even bought the cookbook, "Vegetable taste Better" which is packed with creative ideas we will try in the near future.

Pros: creative dishes, beautifully presented., quiet and serene , easy to find.

Cons: None

Brilliant

This is the first plant-based fine dining experience I've ever had, and I was very impressed!

I'm going to be super picky - as this was no inexpensive night out. We left with empty pockets, but it was worth it!

We were greeted by a lovely smiley lady, who seated us at our table. I don't know what had happened to her shirt, but it could have done with an iron passing over it and it will definitely need a wash as the back of the shirt was covered in something. We just smiled and it didn't bother us, but for the calibre of restaurant, many others may expect ironed and clean clothing :)

The food was a brilliant experience. The only thing my daughter, my friend and I weren't overly keen on was a strong smoky taste, which ran through almost all of the savoury dishes on the table. It was a little overpowering. My friend wasn't keen at all on the peppercorns with his chocolate parfait, but felt a little better once we'd identified what it was!

It would be nice to have a menu left on the table, to check back over what is in the dishes as your eating them. There are a lot of elements to these plates, and it's difficult to remember everything.

We had the 3 course set menu, and although my omni friend laughed at receiving a carrot on a plate as his starter, none of us left hungry. I was stuffed after mine!

We were given bread whilst waiting, and an amuse bouche before our starter, which added to the experience and gave us something to talk about.

The dishes were enjoyed by an 8 year old, a carnist and a vegan - so they did pretty well there!

Thanks for a lovely evening!

Pros: beautiful and interesting food, professional and friendly service, lovely small restaurant

Cons: pricey - definitely a treat for us

Well worth it

This is a vegan indulgence on the wallet but well worth every penny. This is fine dining with plants taking centre stage. After my second visit I've seen a move to even more vegan options and even more focus on unusual flavours and creative cooking.

Fantastic veggie restaurant

One of the best, if not the best veggie/vegan restaurants I’ve been to. Food incredibly high end and service very friendly. I think their wine could be improved on a little, but still clearly s 5 Star experience. Most food was vegan and clearly labelled.

Pros: Food, Service

Fabulous food

We had lunch there recently and the standard of food was the next level up from what you typically get as vegan options. What they can do with a cauliflower is nobody’s business.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Reasonable price for the quality of food, Good service

The best food we've ever eaten.

Quite simply this was the best food my partner and I have ever eaten. Every dish was a dive into new flavours and anticipated with excitement. Usually it's a challenge to get me to be quiet but I was rendered speechless by this food which overtook my senses!

We agonised over what to have but we were left thinking that we could have chosen anything (vegan) on the menu and would have been very pleased.

This place was recommended by some friends but it exceeded our by some way.

I realise this review appears phoney as it's so glowing but I assure you that we were just happy customers.

It is undoubtedly more expensive than your typical food and you cannot go here regularly but honestly it's worth the money. The time and effort that has gone into creating these dishes is incredible and more then outweigh the cost.

We're so pleased to have visited and can't wait to try the other dishes again when visiting bath next time.

Go there, you don't be disappointed.

Pros: New flavours, new concepts, every dish is exciting

Cons: It is more expensive than the average vegan restau

Delicious!

Had the yummiest vegan nut roast. It came with roast potatoes, nutty pieces and gravy. Very filling too.

A nice night out

We had 2 x Acorn Set Menu, one with paired wines. For starters, the Donkey Carrots and Jerusalem Artichokes, then mains of Bobby Beans and Cepe Cavatelli (plus side salad and amuse bouche). All dishes tasted and looked great and the service was pleasant and efficient (although there were only a few tables occupied on a wet Wednesday night). We did not have room for desert so cannot comment. Would definitely return to try other dishes and deserts.

Pros: Central location, Good food and professional presentation, Pleasant service

Cons: Not fully vegan but very close with 10 / 13 dishes

Stunning

Probably the best vegetarian/vegan cuisine I have experienced. Higher end of the price range, but worth every penny. The preparation and presentation are simply superb, without being too arty. The flavour combinations are exquisite. Here is a chef who is a master of his trade.
The recommended wine accompaniments just seal the whole deal perfectly.
Good atmosphere, friendly efficient staff, quaint, historic location.

Pros: Superb food. This is Flavour with a capital F., Good range of menu choices. Excellent wine list. , Good staff. good location.

Cons: None.

Gourmet.

Went here for a treat and treat it certainly was - expensive but deliciously different gourmet food, really interestingly put together flavours and textures, good vegan options, kept my omnivore cousins happy, and great service. Would recommend for those times when you want to splash out!
