Unique experience

The plate was awesome.
A lot of different flavors combined.
The old building has a very special flair.
We went in February.
I have to admit, although we had a kotatsu it was very cold inside.
And the fried food wasn't probably heated, which was a bit disappointing.

Vegan set meal is just perfect. Every little dish was oishii.
Highly highly recommend.

Oh my Buddha!

We visited on 7th August 2022.
Reservation is required (by phone) for lunchtime, at least for two people.
You will be greeted at the door and taken to a private room.
Lunch menu is set, you can choose from set drink (be carefull with mistaken English, they have more options available than they are willing to admit in English), or pay extra for other drinks.
Everything was delicious. No complains, definitely will be back.
You will get your phone coin back, as usual in better traditional restaurants in Japan (very sweet touch).

Fabulous experience!!!

It’s really easy to find this place from Kintetsu Ikoma station, take a cable car (real fun!) to Hozanji 宝山寺、and in one minute you can find this lovely, exotic place!! The whole area was used to be a touristic area in 1930s so you feel like time-traveled to those times .... The owner seems inspired vegetarianism by Jamaican Rasta movement, very nice gentleman, serves Ital food. In winter time you can enjoy Kotatsu table (traditional warm heated table with futon) and the night view was stunning too !! Before or after coming to this place, please go to Hozanji temple upstairs it’s an old Buddhist/Shinto temple very spiritual in Ikoma! And also few doors away there’s Kundalini Yoga Asylum run by an American gentleman Khalsa!

Magical! Best dining experience I ever had

Absolutely worth all the stairs we took to come to this place. We came on a weekday noon without a reservation, but it was no problem. We got seated in a private traditional nicely decorated Japanese room with Tatami’s and a heated Kotatsu. We came around Christmas so there was chill reggae Christmas music playing. The staff is super friendly and explained what’s on menu. You get an appetizer and tea first. Then there is the main which is a lunchset of 10 different little dishes, soup and rice. And after that you get dessert and a drink of your choice all for 2000円.
it’s totally worth it! The food is absolutely delicious, every bite is a surprise, fresh seasonal ingredients, interesting playful new combinations! Very overwhelming and the first time in Japan that I felt so full after a meal that I couldn’t get up. And that’s a good thing, because the kotatsu is so cozy you can literally fall asleep after the meal.
Please visit, your will be feel like the happiest person alive!
Also nearby there is a beautiful temple to visit and if you enjoy hiking in the forest you can combine these in the trip

Pros: Amazing food cooked with love, Beautiful location , Best restaurant ever

Cons: None!

Delicious food, unique building

One of my favorite things about visiting ナイヤビンギ is the location. The old house has so much charm and I love the privacy the Kotatsu rooms offer. The food itself is fresh and delicious. A reasonably priced and special experience. Absolutely recommend visiting.

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Unique location/building , Private rooms offered

Delicious traditional japanese cuisine

The price is 1950¥ for a lunch menu, consisting of a) free tea, b) an appetizer, c) 10 vegetable bowls, brown rice and soup, d) free coffee, ice coffee, tea or another drink made of potatoes (idk?), e) dessert. They are served in the order a, b, c, ...
You'll have a great panorama view over the valley while dining. The cuisine is great, it's traditional japanese with very much love to details.
It is recommended to make a reservation if you plan to visit for lunch or dinner. If you only come to drink coffee and eat cake, no reservation is necessary. (They had only two cakes available, so I highly recommend to try the traditional menu at lunch or dinner)
The price / value is very good as it is not necessary to order drinks, they are part of the menu.
- You need approximately 2h of time for the menu. If you plan to visit Todai-ji at the same day, you should have lunch at 12pm.
- The cat or dog cable car is well worth the visit, so I added some pictures for you.
