My go-to at the University of Essex market! - Edit
I love the Norwegian Bakers, having first tried their skoleboller upon the recommendation of my Norwegian friend when we saw the stall at the university market. When I asked if it was vegan, I was thrilled to learn that everything was!
Read moreI hastily indulged, utilising their 3 for £5 (usually £2 each) offer to get a tomato and cheese swirl (there are a few flavour alternatives of these available, including garlic and cheese and olive burst), the aforementioned skoleboller, and a marzipan bun. The seller seemed to appreciate my enthusiasm and we held up the queue chatting!
I've frequented the stall since (I always get a skoleboller, but the chocolate cake is gorgeous, too) and will be going into Wivenhoe to get my fix over the summer in the absence of the university market. I am hoping to try the cookies there!
Pros: All vegan (no cross-contamination), Affordable, Friendly
Cons: Few lighter options (i.e. mostly buns and breads)

En hyggelig butikk! - Edit
I originally found out about this place through Essex university, and then visited their main shop in Wivenhoe. Jessika's calzones, Kids and Swedish Kärleksmums, and swirls - both sweet and savoury - are delicious. They were a great introduction into vegan food for me a few years back, and one I still visit every-so-often.

Sunshine buns are to die for - Edit
The most delicious baked treats and super soft bread. I love the oats and orange juice loaf but my absolute favourites are their sunshine buns, and they do deals if you buy multiples - which I promise you won’t go to waste. We normally pig out on the whole delivery the day it arrives and then feel guilty 😆

Found Norwegian Bakers at the Watford Vegan festival today, and am currently scoffing one of their cakes at home with a nice cup of tea. I also bought some equally tasty savoury pastry goods which are amazing. Thank you NB! 😋

Arguably the BEST Vegan Pastries in Colchester - Edit
They have the best pastries in colchester, hands down, and are even lovely to eat it cold. Their cinnamon roll, and spinach roll are still appearing in my sweetest dreams.
