Used to be good, now less so - Edit
Edit: the management changed and they gutted the menu and raised the prices. The things mentioned in my original review are no longer available. I'll leave my original review for the memory of what it once was.

North South East West is located in my neighborhood. It's that place that you know that always has something you like has an atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable.
The menu is huge and it stretches from veggie burgers to fake sharkfin soup. There is plenty of seating and it has A/C.
I recommend the Assam Fish head curry. It's one of the more expensive things on the menu at around 13sgd, but veg assam curry is hard to find so I gladly pay it (The only other placy I know that serves it is in Bedok where it's 6sgd). The laksa is good, but a little watery. The fried chili tofu is good if you like spice. I also haven't had anything bad so sometimes I just order random things to see what it is.
To order, go the front as there are no waiters. take a menu and paper, then you go back up and get your food when it's ready. They take nets and cash no credit cards though.

Wonderful dining experience! - Edit
Thank you for my wonderful dining experience here!
Read moreThe restaurant was clean, comfortable, and well decorated with quotes on kindness.
All the staff was polite, friendly, helpful, and observant. A staff member served me a cup of plain water when he noticed that I didn't handle the spiciness level of a dish well.
The South Indian rice set was so delicious and authentic! Most places that sell Indian food without alliums couldn't make it as flavourful as the usual Indian cuisine, but this restaurant showed that it is absolutely possible! They totally nailed it!
It felt like home to dine here with such a comfortable ambience, delicious food, and being served by staff members who are so warm and make me feel deeply welcomed.
I will definitely bring my family and friends to visit next time!
Pros: Excellent customer service, Delicious food, Clean and cosy environment

Cool name - Edit
Mostly Chinese Singaporean dishes veganized. Noodle soups and rice. They have western food which doesn't appear to be vegan (cheese). I liked what I had. Hainanese beef noodle soup which was like a brownish braised soup with Chinese veggies. The “shredded beef” was so uncanny that I had doubts a couple times while eating. I have to say, it kinda hit the spot for a craving I didn’t even know I had. Will not be needing “beef” in a while. But at the same time, it was a little freaky. Probably texturally the closest I’ve come to meat in a while. They have other stuff tho.
Read moreIt’s a little far out from the downtown area but good if you’re staying around geylang. Last order is 9:15 contrary to what’s stated above.
The food plus drink cost about $10.

What I had: Jia Xiang noodles, dumplings, sea cucumber and broccoli, and Jia Xiang tofu
Read moreThe Jia Xiang noodles are relatively more flavourful, without being overly doughy (which happens a lot with Chinese wheat noodles). The sea cucumber had a really bouncy, konnyaku-like texture (in fact, I think it’s made from konnyaku), and soaked up much of the taste without being overly oily. I love how fresh the broccoli was - cooked to just the right texture without being too soggy or undercooked.
However, the Jia Xiang tofu was a little disappointing, because the huge block simply didn’t soak up enough of the sauce. Not that I particularly enjoy eating chinese dark stew sauce (卤), but I thought if they were going to use that sauce the taste should at least be more distinct. The dumplings were a lot better than many other places, with a generally above average flavour, but the filling to dough ratio was questionable.
I do love how fast their service is though! Everything came all at once, including the dessert (white fungus soup- the white fungus was too hard and the soup tasted like white sugar water). Would love to come back to try their dimsum :)
Pros: fast service, extensive menu, good noodles

Popular place with extensive menu - Edit
It's a nice little self-service restaurant, which makes you feel a little like in a cantine, but it still has a very friendly ambience. They offer a huge variety of dishes, western and asian, and include veggies as well as a lot of meat substitutes. They don't use garlic or onions. On request they will make your food less or more spicy, whichever you prefer. The place was crowded when we went, lots of locals seem to come here on a regular basis - and so would I, if I lived nearby. The prices are okay or even cheap for Singapore and the food is really nice! At the counter they sell a few vegetarian products, for anyone looking for noodles without the usual chicken or prawn flavouring, this is perfect.

Buddhist Vegetarian, Extensive menu - Edit
One of my fave places because their Spicy Char Kway Teow, Crispy Noodles, Bitter Gourd soup with Rice are outstanding! Their Grass Jelly dessert is also awesome because they don't stinge on nipah fruit (attap chee). Their menu choice is extensive and whilst some of my friendly detractors argue that many of the items fall under a category of soup or sauce base, I'd still come here regularly because of affordability (fresh veggie items, like most places, can be pricier though), wide variety and decent ambience

EAT @ NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST ... - Edit
North South East West is a cosy mini restaurant in a food court with a quiet alfresco dining area surrounded with greenery. I like the cosy and relax ambience with calming music.
Read moreOffering Asian and Western Vegetarian Fare - Ramen, Udon, Sandwiches, Finger Food, Noodles, Rice, Congee, Pasta, Pizza, Fish and Chip, Prata, Fusion dishes and so on, you can find that all in this mini restaurant. Plenty choices to choose from.
It is "more accessible" to diners watching their pockets (NO GST and NO Service Charge) as much as their waistlines. Like the - Braised Dong Bo Slices @ S$3.50 which we ordered under the Non-Fried Item Menu, come with 5 mini bundles of Mock Dong Bo Meat with Mushroom which is great to be shared among few people or eaten by one pax. The Treasury Baggy @ $3 is another sumptuous finger food which we love.
I always find the presentation of the menu is very important. It should be interesting, clear and easy to read. I set my eye on the dish - Volcano Curry Udon, in my mind, I visual the fiery and piping hot Udon just like the erupting volcano and immediately felt so appetizing. Was quite disappointed when they don't have it and I go for the non-spicy version - Udon Noodle Soup @ $5.5o. A colourful udon soup with different variety of ingredients like corn, french beans, carrot, mushrooms, mock meat ball, vegetarian mushroom meat, black fungus shred that paired perfectly with the "Sha Cha Jiang" flavourful broth.
Love the colourful variety of Vegetarian and Vegan Tibits/Snacks in the eatery. Bought the healthy brown rice crackers @ S$3.50 with could be used on salad and the no MSG, GM/Gluten/Lactose free Chips S$2.50 before leaving. I have also noted what the dishes that I wanted on my next are.
Comparing with the Rice House which is under the same group, I prefer this more. If I am the residents in Marine Parade, I would definitely go here very often ...
