Perfect for a date night - Edit
I went with my partner to celebrate our aniversary. During the night, Nori feels like an intimate and warm place. We had the Creamy Crunchy and the California. Food was great as well as the dessert and sake. I would say is a little bit expensive, but worth it.

I was so excited to find a vegan sushi restaurant in Austin. Nori has a plethora of options to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. We started with Chick’n Kaarage and it was my very good and full of flavor. The volcano sushi was good, but not my favorite. The Katsu Curry Dish was a bit too thick for me, but my husband loved it and he’s not a vegan. The Lion Mane Steak was a good and hearty dish; however, I didn’t care too much for the mashed potatoes, but the lion’s mane steak was my favorite! The steak was juicy, bursting with flavor and the texture was perfect! We had dinner here on a busy night, so I understand that there’s a possibility that things will not run smoothly, but the service here has room for improvement.

✨ Absolutely Fantastic ✨ - Edit
Wow. This vegan restaurant really stood out to me! It's super rare to find really good vegan sushi in my area. The food was phenomenal! It had a semi fine dining flare which is also difficult to find. I was delighted that it had so many appealing offerings. We ordered the shiitake gyozas, volcano, texan, and spider. The volcano stood out and the gyozas were memorable. I enjoyed my meal so much that I didn't even think about taking photos. On top of all that our server, Forest, was the bomb and such a delight.

Amazing Sushi and Great service! - Edit
I had the Spicy Toona and Sunflower roll and it was a flavor explosion! Absolutely phenomenal dinner. Definitely come during happy hour for some reduced price rolls. But for a sushi place it’s pretty affordable.

The food and service were amazing 🤩. I ordered two rolls for lunch with miso soup and side salad and it was all so tasty. I'm just sad I cannot come here often to try their katsu, bentos, etc. Don't miss it if you stop by Austin!

Great taste and presentation - Edit
We got the dragon roll, the spicy tuna roll, the tuna nigiri, and the catsu chicken nigiri. Everything was delicious. The tuna nigiri was a tuna product I hadn't tried, so that was neat, although I probably wouldn't eat it regularly. The other ones were really good.

Best Sushi Experience - Edit
I am a big fan of sushi. And as a benefit, there is often a guarantee that if I pick a Japanese restaurant there will be a few "veggie roll" options to choose within the corner of the menu. Nori in Austin, TX says let us take that sidebar veggie paragraph and make an upscale dining experience of it. Nori is the best sushi experience I have ever had. From henceforth, all other Japanese restaurants will be held to Nori's high standard in my mind.
Read moreThis restaurant really is an experience. I have been to Michelin star restaurants that do not compare to Nori. The artistry Nori manifests in utilizing vegetables to mimic the look, taste, and mouthfeel of seafood is unmatched, and truly not even attempted anywhere else. They can take a tomato and make you swear you are eating salmon. This is the best Japanese restaurant I have ever visited.
I have no complaints or critiques. This restaurant was perfection. This is an amazing example of an upscale vegan restaurant. I would brag to any of my omnivore friends about this restaurant. This is the restaurant to bring your Japanese loving friends when you want to convince them that vegan food really is just as good (if not better) than an omnivore diet.
I think Austinites already know about this gem. But for an visitor to Austin, whether for vacation or for its many conventions, Nori is a necessity to adventure.
Pros: Entirely Vegan, Artistic Interpretations, Best Japanese Restaurant

Nori is officially my favorite restaurant in Austin! Until finding Nori, my mantra was, "vegan until sushi," but now I don't even have to compromise for that! Even my omnivore boyfriend loved it!

BEST SUSHI IN AUSTIN - Edit
Went with my best friends and sister (it was her first time). We kept ordering and eating it all. After the fourth round of sushi maki rolls, nigiris, ceviche, Brussels sprouts and some wonderful Chef Ron Rosales surprise specials, we were again laughing because it was all gone. This was the only photo we took…. We were so happy and full! AMAZING EXPERIENCE IN EVERY WAY!

Visited Nori for a curated 6-course dinner on New Year’s Eve. Very well put together, fresh, and flavorful.

Delicious all vegan japanese style food - Edit
I’m so happy to have all vegan sushi in Austin. A really nice atmosphere for a date night. Such incredible food. We started with the brussels and ceviche. I am so excited to be able to order a vegan ceviche! We also got the rainbow roll, shitake roll, spider roll and manhattan roll. All of them were unbelievable. The menu is clearly marked with gluten and nuts and many items are already gluten free or GF upon request which made ordering really easy. Ended the night with green tea and we were so full and happy. Will be back many times.
Read moreEdit/update: We attended their new year’s eve pre fixe menu seating and it was a wonderful time. Lots of variety and flavor on the menu. They had a fully GF menu for us as well. I hope the tartlet gets to stay on the menu!!
