Open Mon-Tue 10:00-16:30, Thu-Fri 10:00-16:30, Sat 10:00-15:30.

Bigger and Better! - Edit
The Cookery has always been ace, but the previous location was always a little on the dinky side. The progressive owners have now moved to a much larger premises just a few doors up (now at number 4 St James Place) previously known as Acorn Lodge.
Read moreWith much more room and a large outside terrace their delicious food and drink can now be enjoyed inside or out in spacious comfort. We have visited twice since the re-opening (Sept 2023) and the move has been seamless - their Oat Cappuccino is one of the best in town - and their existing menu offers plenty of choice - though I suspect that the new larger kitchen will allow for further tasty options in the near future.
Always a warm and professional welcome - comes highly recommended.

Nice place for lunch - Edit
The options were somewhat limited, although for a rural location, we were pleasantly surprised. We had a delicious curry with a jacket potato/panini, as well as a vegan chocolate milkshake. Staff were very friendly.

Great lunch, we ordered vegan sausage rolls, vegan pizza twist, vegan mac and cheese and some oat milk coffees. All excellent. The mac and cheese particularly good. Other menu items include vegan milkshakes, jackfruit chilli panini / jacket potato and cakes. Reasonably priced bordering on cheap , great value and great service.

Great little cafe. Lots of vegan options and great service. Choice of plant based milks, including pea milk, which was a new one on us. Really tasty. Lots of snacks and main meals. It's small though so no good for big groups.

Best vegan sausage roll ever! - Edit
Had a lovely meal with a vegan sausage roll, coleslaw, olives, crisps and salad. Would highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Great jacket potatoes - Edit
Had a couple of really lovely jacket potatoes this afternoon, one vegan coleslaw and a mint, chickpea and garlic filling and one with coleslaw and an amazing pulled jackfruit filling. Also had plenty of prominent vegan drinks and food. Staff were lovely and accomodating for a small family. Wireless charging and books for kids also provided. Would definitely visit again, if only for the jackfruit!
