Beautiful place - Edit
My partner and I had dinner at No. Twelve last week and we enjoyed it. It is a beautiful little restaurant very close to the Old Market but in a tranquil place. The restaurant is gorgeous, and the food is delicious. The only problem is the relationship between food quantity and price.
Read moreFood is way too expensive for the amount. I would suggest enhancing around 30% of the quantity of the "tapas" for the same price. I believe it would be more than fair. Even though there are not many places like this in Nottingham, still it is too expensive. For instance, we had the Brie & Brioche (£6.5), a piece of bread smaller than my hand (I have small hands) with two slices of Brie on top. Very tasty, but too expensive for what it was.
Also, the range of wines available could be improved. There are so many good wines from different countries in Europe. There is no need to export wines from places on the other side of the world. I believe it would be more in line with the image of the restaurant.
In sum, great food, but probably not a place I will go to often.

Incredible. The best vegan cheese I’ve ever had. - Edit
Really enjoyed this: we had a selection of the tapas dishes and they were incredible. Enjoyed the potatoes, vegan cheese, salads and a cocktail. I’ll definitely be back!

The best restaurant in Nottingham - Edit
No.12 makes some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. The wines available are also consistently excellent. The pricing is also very reasonable for such high end food. The cheese selections are particularly impressive and the layered, savoury tart I had there is one of the top 5 meals I've had in my entire life.
Read moreTasting plate portions means you can try a bit of everything, which is great because everything on the menu is delicious!
Seasonal menus means there is always a reason to come back.
Location is great as it's close to the centre of town, 2 mins walk from tram stop, but isn't too noisy as it's down an alleyway.
Staff are really friendly.
Pros: Amazing food, Friendly Staff, Good location

Best meal I've ever had, before and since becoming vegan. - Edit
I went here for my 36th birthday as I'd always loved eating at Number 12 before it moved to the new building. This was easily the best meal I've eaten in 31 years before and 5 years since becoming vegan. This isn’t just great vegan food, this is incredible food full stop. Only down side is that we were all so excited about the food we forgot to leave a tip and felt terrible about it the rest of the evening. Shall be leaving a double tip the next time we visit, which will hopefully be soon!
Read moreFor a tapas style restaurant, each dish was still large enough I felt like I could share a bit of each so that everyone got to experience each dish. I was unable to find a single dish that wasn't enjoyable, even the carrot salad that I turned my nose up at on the menu was actually delicious in reality when I tried a bit of it my friend ordered. I would strongly recommend the sharing board, the camembert, the king oyster mushrooms, and the potatoes.
The new building is so lovely and had a very relaxing atmosphere and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive as they always have been both before and after moving to its current location.
Finally it is worth noting that while me and my wife are both vegan, our two friends who went with us are not and they were equally as blown away by the food as we were. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Pros: Amazing quality food., Lovely building & atmosphere., Very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff.

Lovely and luxurious - Edit
This was a little challenging to find but was so worth it!
Read moreThere was a group of us, so tasted a lot of things on the menu.
In particular, the ‘Camembert’, the ‘Brie’, the potatoes and the banoffee dessert were lovely.
The group consisted of 2 pescatarians and 2 omnivores, everyone rated the food very highly! There were a couple of plates that were less favourable; the aubergine terrine and the beetroot bhaji.

Delicious Graduation Lunch - Edit
After our original graduation lunch was cancelled at another restaurant we found no.12 last min and it was stunning. Delicious bottle of champagne paired with beautiful presentation of the dishes. We practically ordered the whole menu between 4 of us and highly recommend for any special occasion!

Sunday lunch - Edit
A real find. Went for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent: seitan and soy roasts with the best vegan Yorkshire pudding I've ever had. The mushroom parfait starter was fab. The berry crumble tart and sweet. Home made cordials (yum) and excellent, efficient service. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, small portions - Edit
We had the french toast and parsnip hash. Great service, excellent range of drinks. Food was absolutely delicious and arrived very quickly, but we felt that the portions were quite small. (this was the brunch menu though, and the hash had the option to ‘double up’). Would go back to sample the evening menu. Recommended if you’re in Nottingham!

This place should be your first stop in Nottingham! - Edit
Stumbled across No.Twelve via an internet search, whilst looking for a good breakfast.
Read moreAs the first people there, we had our choice of tables, and after getting settled, were promptly brought oat milk lattes. We ordered our breakfasts and were prepared to wait, as the staff had told us the kitchen had a member of the team off. However, our meals arrived quickly.
If you haven't eaten here and are just weighing up this or somewhere else, choose No. Twelve! Beautiful presentation, and such a wonderful balance of flavours. Both dishes were perfect exactly as they were. Great British Fake Off and Posh Beans (both vegan).
This is fine dining standard at cafe prices.
Many vegan and vegetarian eateries forget that eating out is an experience, and focus on the virtue of their businesses rather than aiming to impress. This stereotype can be left at the door of No. Twelve. A perfect mix of rustic and contemporary charm, friendly and professional staff, and delicate and satisfying food.
Pros: Everything can be made vegan., High quality food for a normal price
Cons: Small - probably best to book, Your meal won't last forever.

Fabulous find - Edit
I use Happy Cow all the time when I'm travelling but I learnt today I should use it in my own town. I stumbled across this little gem this morning with a friend. We had coffee and the most delicious cakes served with style grace and extreme friendliness. I'll be returning to try their lunch offerings which looked delicious and keep an eye on how this little business develops. Just what Nottingham city centre needs. Thank you!
