Serves meat, vegan options available. Malaysian cuisine restaurant offering marked vegan choices on its a la carte menu, around 5 starters, 4 mains, 1 dessert, and sorbet. Trendy setup with bar. Reported closed, Jul 2017.
This place had a single (positive) review, but I took a chance last night and was so impressed. Several vegan options, either appetizer or main (although only sorbets for dessert, but there was a selection of flavours - still better than the usual offer of a fruit salad).
Warm Gado Gado Salad was delicious and very filling (my friend's spring rolls were perhaps the best i've ever tasted) and my main, Nyonya Lime Curry, was teeming with flavours. Lemongrass sorbet was refreshing (more disappointing was the lychee sorbet, which I ordered because they'd run out of mango). But overall, the meal, the atmosphere, the decor - without doubt the best vegan-friendly place in Manchester.
Ning is a lovely restaurant in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, and tends to be quite popular in the evenings so booking is advisable. The menu has plenty of vegan options, all of which are clearly marked, and they're included in the two course deal every night. The nyonya lime curry is my favourite: really flavoursome, and spicy without being red hot. The starters are perhaps more tempting than the mains: I've liked everything I've tried! The service is friendly and it's got a lovely atmosphere, good for a special occasion.
