Great chef and delicious food

The food is delicious and filling since most of the veggie dishes are made with lentils or chickpeas.

Nothing on the menu is labelled vegan, but there is a vegetarian section of the menu. The owner is knowledgable and would be able to highlight any vegan options.

Good food, slightly confusing signs

Good vegan options (the vegetarian stuff is vegan by default) for sharing. Had the vegetarian special for three.
It would of course be better if it was explicitly marked as vegan. Also, it's maybe a bit confusing that a place that also serves meat has "cuisine vegetarienne" on its sign above the restaurant.

Simple, Kind, Warm Ambience

Lovely experience, this was the second time I went.
I had the veg-degustation for 2 person. The staff is always welcoming and gentle, I love the feeling of simplicity when you are inside.
I can confirm that the address I found is the correct one.

Je recommande le plat de dégustation à plusieurs !

Why can't I give them a 5 star rating?!

Apparently only vegan/vegetarian restaurant can get a 5 star which really sucks.
This restaurant deserves 5 stars. The food was great and the staff was very knowledgeable.

Pros: Very knowledgeable staff and delicious food/beer

Good food

Best to order the vegetarian menu here, and you will have enough to eat.

Also people who work here are friendly.

Good food

This place was not where the happycow listing said but had moved to Le Nil Bleu, Avenue Villamont 17, 1005 Lausanne.

Anyway, when we got there we got a warm welcome and the food was very flavoursome. We shared the vegetarian plate and all of it was vegan, as is normally the case with Ethiopian veg food. They also have interesting drinks like mango beer.

I really liked this restaurant but one thing to be aware of is that despite what the signs outside imply, it is not a vegetarian restaurant. They serve many meat dishes too so be sure to tell them that you want veg only.

Pros: Great vegan food, Friendly service

Cons: Not a veg restaurant, even though signs imply it

Double check

Nothing is marked vegan. According to staff, everything in the vegetarian section is vegan, but they didn't seem to be too knowledgeable on the topic so I'd double check by asking about milk and eggs in your dish.
You may want to consider the similar restaurant Abyssinia with explicit vegan (végétalien) declarations.
