First went here when they were located on melrose. Loved the atmosphere & sushi. My favorite was the Niku Nashi Roll & Philly Roll. I order a few times after they moved to the ghost kitchen Colony. Since the move they’re under a different name,Kakkoi sushi, which has vegan & non vegan sushi. Since they operate out of a ghost kitchen/food court it’s unclear if they just partnered with a non vegan sushi place to sell their items or if they made the choice to add non vegan sushi to the menu. Last week I tried to place an order but the website is down, they’re no longer on DoorDash or Uber eats, and their IG is deactivated. I hope they come back bc I loved their vegan sushi. Too many vegan spots have closed or went Omni

MISLEADING - Edit
I was passing by LA looking for a more elevated vegan experience. The vegan label and the photos on Happy Cow are misleading. This is a shared kitchen with many other meat-serving restaurants. The food wasn’t bad, but the space was loud and casual, with meat-eating customers around. Also, the employee stated that I should be careful to choose only options that say “vegan” because “Kakkoi” (the restaurant they operate under) serves non-vegan options. The label should be fixed to “vegan options.”

Late night drinks - Edit
It says APB (A Plant Bar) on the front.
Read moreWe stopped here for a drink and appetizers late in the day. The Sage Grapefruit mocktail was amazing. They also had an eggs and cream drink that was great.
We got the seaweed salad with this, which was really good

Incredible! - Edit
Wow! One of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had, and we got takeout. Super fresh, super delicious, everything was so good. The spring rolls, Cali roll, shrimp tempura, and cheesecake. Insanely good! Cannot stop thinking about that pumpkin spice cheesecake!

Best birthday dinner Vegan Sushi - Edit
This new vegan sushi restaurant is delicious! Every menu item is beautifully crafted, tastes fresh and flavorful. I especially loved the pink soy skin Barbie roll, and the citrus roll. I celebrated my birthday with 15 of us and everyone loved it! And the atmosphere is so pretty.

Good - Edit
Everything was good, but too pricey. I wasn’t impressed. The dumplings were soooo expensive and the sauce wasn’t good or creative. Good portion of edamame. Would recommend for a cute date night.

This is a really cool place and even better for sushi loving vegans - Edit
The place is great, usually they only offer outside seating but because of the heat they opened the inside to lunch which is wonderful. The lunch bento box was such a treat and great deal with dessert included! Loved it all and would recommend.

Yes to vegan sushi! - Edit
Sushi is one thing I knew I'd miss so I always have to try any new vegan sushi that comes my way. This place doesn't disappoint.
Read moreThey're brand new so it feels like they're still testing things out. Our server informed us there was no more nigiri, just rolls. Also their happy hour was advertised as 4-6 but it's actually now 3-5.
But no matter. My friend and I shared a few rolls and the crispy rice and tuna and they were all great. I definitely want to come back and try everything else on their menu.
Not super cheap but happy hour is a great deal at 25% off if you can swing it. Also our server Rachel was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.

Did not disappoint… - Edit
Finally got a chance to check out this sushi place I keep seeing in social media and in my Happy Cow app. Fortunately, it did not disappoint. It goes to the top of my list as one of the best vegan sushi restaurants in my area. I had the “Plant Based Spicy Tuna Hand Roll” and couldn’t believe how realistic it was in terms of taste and texture. I also tried their limited “4th of July Roll” and the popular “Niku Nashi Roll”, both of which were excellent. The patio is open for lunch and is dog friendly. My server was the best and took good care of both me and my dog. Highly, highly recommend.

APB NIKU NASHI IS SUPERIOR - Edit
Was waiting non stop for a month for this to open and it was so worth the wait. Been vegan for 13 years & this is my favorite vegan sushi now. The inside atmosphere is very nice, every single dish I ordered was great, not just average vegan sushi. Presentation 10/10. I want everyone to try it.
