Huge vegan menu - Edit
Tried here because the Vietnamese vegan place down the road is closed for the Christmas period, and the temple restaurant was also closed. We were offered a table promptly, and as soon as i opened the menu, we were 'warned' that the first half of the book was vegan. What a lovely thing to have so many choices! I had to rely on the scant description written in English and the helpful photos on some of the items when ordering. Still, didn't feel like I could go wrong anyway. Meal was pretty good, sort of somehow seemed to miss that "wow"- however, everything was ok tasty and big enough plates for a hungry appetite. A Sugarapple and a durian smoothie for full Asian flavours and a table of monks dining at the same time for authenticity. Will try here again as I bet there are some very good meals on that menu.

Good - Edit
Came here as I couldn’t get a table at Just Vegan. Quite a big vegan menu. Enjoyed the Singapore noodles.

Great food, good for mixed groups - Edit
The restaurant has an extensive vegan menu and everything we tried was delicious. The server understood the difference between vegan, vegetarian and chay. There is also an extensive omnivorous menu which can help if you're in a mixed group that doesn't like to compromise. Recommend if you're in the area and Just Vegan is closed.

Not fully vegan but delicious dishes - Edit
Edit: Went back and saw they are now serving animal products again. Sad as they only lasted 4 weeks as a vegetarian venue. They still haven't changed their Vegan shop signage.
Read moreThe hu tieu rice noodle soup was generously portioned and quite tasty, the broken rice was small portioned and the pork was tough and very hard to chew (overcooked) but tasty, the egg was mushy, but the shredded tofu and noodles very tasty.
The wontons were nice, but even though I enquired if the wrappers contained egg, I'm never sure they understand the question properly. Also, they gave us non-vegan mayo with the wontons.
Every time I've come here the prices have increased, and aside from the noodle soups I can't really say it's worth it, especially with Just Vegan up the road.
It's great that this once omni restaurant has become vegan for ethical reasons, but it's disappointing that they haven't fully understood what vegan means. They still have egg noodle dishes on the menu, and they served me non-vegan mayo with my deep fried mushroom (which by themselves were very good). Concerningly the waiter didn't even know that non-vegan mayo has egg in it, and another staff member didn't seem to get why I was asking if the egg noodles were made of chicken egg or not.
The food is very good, but some dishes are quite expensive, and in the few weeks I've been there, a few dishes have already got price increases.
The service is definitely much friendlier than the nearby Just Vegan restaurant, and the menu is incredibly extensive (even though the descriptions tend to not explain what the dish consists of - one dish is called Special Treat), but the prices might be the limiting factor for me.
My favourite dishes so far are the pho with it's rich flavourful broth, and the Nhi Nuong salad (goi) is also delicious and fresh, with crispy bits on top.
The braised mushroom in south vietnamese style is tasty but incredibly salty.
The deep fried flat rice noodles with vegetables (hu tieu ap chao) had a very good peppery sauce, but the vegetables were a little overcooked and the noodles not charcoaled.
The spring rolls were taro based, my least favourite type of spring roll.

Pros: pho, Nhi Nuong salad/goi
Cons: now serve animal flesh, prices increase everytime we go there, staff don't know what vegan is

If I’m in the neighbourhood I can go to Just Vegan and feel secure that my money isn’t going to animal abuse.

Yes Just Vegan is my priority in the area, but their limited hours for now, means Nhi Nuong is the only other viable option in the area for dinner.
